It’s pretty rich, the Russians sponsoring anti-gun-control ads.
Money quote from WaPo:
“I get the fact that the Russian intel services could figure out how to manipulate and use the bots. Whether they could know how to target states and levels of voters that the Democrats weren’t even aware really raises some questions. I think that’s a worthwhile area of inquiry,” Sen. Mark Warner (Va.), the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said during a May airing of the podcast Pod Save America. “How did they know to go to that level of detail in those kinds of jurisdictions?”
Bots to the right of me, Bots to the left of me.
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you…
The Russians have been practicing and mastering this for 5-6 years. You could tell by the boards for any article referring to Putin…
a small portion named Donald Trump
Ruh Roh. Who knew the noose would get so … tight.
Seems like just this morning somebody in the Clinton-book-story comments was bellyaching about a lack of any specifics with regards to Russian election fiddling.
I wonder if this is specific enough for their tastes.
Symantec claims Russia has infiltrated 100 US power and nuclear plants this year. Not only does the hacking continue, there’s little reason, as time goes by, not to question the integrity of the 2016 elections.
For some they’ll may only accept if it can be proven that election machines were tampered with, leaving out the propaganda style of interference. Because they;re so smart that they’d never ever fall for something untrue.
Confirmation bias for my two current hates: Trump and Facebook.
Well, whatever you do, don’t look at Bannon, Mercer money or Cambridge Analytica!
Remind me again - who was in charge of “data operations” for the Tramp campaign?
@outsidertrading618 - you’ll note that there were no anti-polonium 210 ads…
Or Jared. Don’t forget Jared.
What’s even more concerning is that this Administration doesn’t seem to care a whit that the Russians have hacked not only our elections, but also our infrastructure. So incredibly frustrating to watch this all happen while we stand down.
Yeah, I was trying to be cute. Jared was the person responsible for the campaign’s “data operations”.
Just the TIP of the iceberg of Russian meddling in the election.
The byzantine maze of 501c and “issue PACs” is a minefield of FOREIGN MONEY pouring into our elections.
Between the professional $$$-Bundlers (on both sides of the Congressional aisle) and the corporate “encouragement” of their employees to donate to the corporation’s preferred candidates we have what Mark Twain decried in the 1880’s as; “The Best Congress Money can buy”.
When only 40 families provided 80% of the donations to the RNC for the 2016 elections, you KNOW we are in deep shit.
Bonus: This keeps Zuckerberg from running in 2020.
We can only hope that the FB security people will do a better job of screening this stuff going forward.
…
Nah.
No, it’s not, because they really don’t care about Russian election tampering. At the end of the day, they really just want to attack Clinton and by any means necessary because she had the unmitigated gall to beat Sanders. And if it doesn’t fit their narrative that Sanders would’ve won, that we should therefore turn the party over to him, then it’s to be firmly rejected.
They’d likely blame Obama for allowing the machine hack, before they’d accept that an actual machine hack happened.
Sez who?
He’s rich, he’s got a nice family n frankly i wanna see him explain this on a debate stage.
Him catching that question would be the equivalent of a shipwrecked man stuck on a tiny island that is surrounded by hungry sharks.
Tha entertainment value of him getting jacked up by Gillienbrand, Harris or Warren would be one for the ages.
Did Brad Parscale get that public Senate hearing yet? #askingforafriend
