Discussion: WaPo: Mother Of Alleged Nazi Double Murderer Recounts Warning Signs Missed

Black kids are shot on sight while in possession of toy guns, and black men are shot on sight while holding cell phones.

White kids can be psycho Nazis making overt threats and white people in positions of power don’t do a fucking thing.

The administrator, the teen’s mother told the Post, told the alleged killer’s mother he’d been wearing an Iron Cross, a known Nazi symbol. The administrator, the mother said, called her son a Nazi.

“[T]hat’s just ridiculous,” the mother responded, she told the Post. “He’s just obsessed with reading about history.”

“So he likes to goose step…”

“And lead the occasional torch-lit parade down the Wilhelmstraße…”

“While demanding ‘the extermination of World Jewry’…”

"But – I ask you – what history-loving, well-adjusted, all-American boy doesn’t?!"

“Mom, I’m a Nazi. I have no friends. I’m going to blow my brains out.”

“That’s nice, dear. Now go up and clean your room.”

Yeah, the black kids should get wise and become Nazis.

And there it is: “NOT MY SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE!!!”

The mother was a confederate sympathizer who sided with the ‘good people’ rioting in Charlottesville. That’s a gateway drug to Naziism. She doesn’t recognize her son as a Nazi because she is a bigot herself and refuses to recognize that the bigotry she taught her child was the foundation that his Naziism was built upon.

But all that that is legal, protected by the first amendment. However, what should be different is that her negligent act of leaving an unsecured gun out for her criminally insane son should be a crime, and a serious one at that. Gun owners should be held responsible for what happens to their unsecured weapons. Knowing that her son was so dangerous is an aggravating factor. A sane country would have clear legislation sending her to jail for a few years.

I was just trying to find the comment on the Wapo site about the facts about the mother that were not included in the article, but I think you covered it. Thanks.

It’s all just CWMS “Crazy White Man Syndrome”, which thankfully isn’t a bar against obtaining AR-15s, large magazines, or other military-grade weapons. After all, what’s this sorry asshole to be mad about? It’s not like he’s had to suffer the kind of cultural generational discrimination that would rationally drive anyone to violence. He’s just a misunderstood white teen.

TPM, for the sake of the article, could you please remove the word ‘alleged’… or is this an issue with minors?

Nah…

If you can’t be batshit crazy AND own a gun what reason is there to live?

Ugh. I remember reading about this. I think it happened the Friday before Christmas. I think about the daughter and wonder how she’s doing. She lost her mother and step-father because of her relationship with this kid. I didn’t know he survived the suicide attempt. Their murders ought to come back on the mother for failing to see what was right in front of her.

Did not know that. It was, of course, not included in the original article just after the murders. The blood is on your hands, lady.

A simple gun lock could have helped prevent this tragedy.

This article needs an edit. There’s no need to use the word “alleged” so often, which makes it a pain to read.

Another in a looooonnnnggggg line of “Willful Ignorance” by a parent (especially one harboring the same bigotries.)

She did not WANT to see her son that way so she has decided it was all “somebody else’s fault”. Probably the Jews.

“They truly didn’t deserve it. It comes back on me,” the alleged killer’s mother said.

It certainly does. She should be in jail for negligence. She and her husband are the ones that left an unsecured gun available for a mentally disturbed kid to have easy access to, that was a very easy sign to see and one that when “missed” should result in criminal charges with a stiff penalty.

Where was he radicalized?

…had taken his father’s gun — which was left “unsecured,” the Post said — along with a knife and a hammer.

“They truly didn’t deserve it. It comes back on me,” the alleged killer’s mother said.

Yes, it does come back on you.

She needs to be charged as an accessory to murder. Anyone who doesn’t secure their gun needs to be charged as an accessory to any crime(s) in which the gun is used to commit.

One thing every homicidal maniac has in common is a mother who thinks they are innocent and just misunderstood.

Ted Bundy’s mother who had always insisted Teddy was innocent was famously devastated when on the eve of his execution, Bundy began confessing.

If you raise a Nazi, studies confirm they will likely grow up to be a NAZI.

Weird, huh?

Do you have a source for your first graph aside from the HuffPost report that included the mother’s Facebook page? Just curious. We added some more acknowledgement of that report.
