Discussion: WaPo: Manafort Offered Russian Bigwig ‘Private Briefings’ On Campaign

If even an experienced pro like Manafort was dumb enough to put something like this in writing, one wonders what else Mueller has already shaken loose.

Thanks, that guy is so good. This is even better than the T.May ones.

One can only admire Mueller for his thoroughness and doggedness in finding the truth, wherever it takes him. The best is yet to come!

Is there any campaign in the past that has offered or given briefings to people outside the US as part of the campaign? Maybe a meeting with a head of state or ambassador, that might make sense, but to brief a random person? This one really, really stinks…there isn’t an conceivable reason the Trump campaign needed to give briefings on the campaign to a citizen of another nation who wasn’t going to be involved with the possible Trump administration. Which, of course, begs the question exactly how this Russian bigwig was going to be involved with the Trump administration.

The Mueller investigation just can’t go fast enough, these little tidbits that slip out really look bad…the thing I’m worried about is there wasn’t actually anything illegal and Mueller just says no crimes were committed (which is possible) and the Republican Congress sweeps everything under the rug. Whatever the outcome, we need the non-classified information released for people to read and understand all the things that happened.

What is the big deal? It is common practice for an investor to be given periodic “Briefings” on the progress that their investment is making toward their stated goal. No news here just business as usual.

If Manafort gets any more toasted on this he’ll be nothing but soot and embers.

This motherfucker has more stink on him that a 5-pound chunk of head cheese that’s been sitting out in the Miami summer sun for 21 days.

Oh, and this is a delight: Ellen de Generes makes Megyn Kelly look like the moron we have always known her to be, and also skins Trump alive.

Love her!

fun fact - Deripaska is the same guy whose private plane kept showing up where Trump’s plane was during the campaign

An offer of a “routine briefing on the state of the campaign”? To a non-U.S. citizen and Russian oligarch?

At what point to we start asking about openings at GITMO?

“Russian Bigwig”.

That’s what most of the world calls Toupee Trump, right?

I have been waiting for him to come back around. Thanks for that.

Now why would the Russkie need a private briefing?

People who pick up the tab like to stay informed about how their investment is doing.

Anyone believe Paulie Walnuts gave these briefings for love? It was likely for money. For himself, but what about money for the Trump campaign?

Probably just a coincidence. Except there’s also this:
