Stranger Danger, Kids…

Eventually someone is going to come out of the woodwork and put and end to that creeps career. I don’t believe he’s as clean as he’s trying to let on. I’m sure he has closets full of skeletons that are itching to come out.
I think the skeletons are already out of the closets. The rethugs in the Senate don’t give a shit.
“Public Safety section”. Freudian slip.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ford is still getting death threats. Tell me again whose life was ruined by this?
It does make you think since there are people on sex offender registration lists for less offensive behavior. Say 17 year old teen with a 14-15 year old who have had their life prospects diminished, denied student loans, barred from military service etc.
The question is not whether he is still coaching . . . the question is how many parents suddenly realized their daughter did not have time to play basketball for an entitled alcoholic coach whose diary proves he is not a rapist.
I wouldn’t trust him with my kid.
Of course it was right to be under “public safety”
All those little girls should run about from this … guy.
Does he coach while drunk?
Bart O’Kavanagh IS the new Humbert Humbert,
All that anxiety and heartache about being falsely accused seems to have all gone away instantly as soon as he got the job. If I didn’t know better I’d say it seems more like he was just worried about getting caught.
The entire concept of the sex offender list is due a serious re-examination. I think that the list is a violation of the “cruel and unusual” clause of the Constitution. In some cases, sex offenders are denied release after serving a sentence, and the detention is permanent. How is that constitutional?
i’d like to think, but with all the red flags with thomas and his conflicts of interest going unchecked for years, i doubt the GOP will let a little thing like attempted rape and gambling debts bother them
I’ve been thinking about this kind of overreach for years. Ever since the 90’s Megan’s laws were passed you had to wonder about those who were swept up in them, are leading normal law abiding lives but have that offender registry on their backs.
I’m reminded of a Georgia case of a high school football star in the 00’s. He was in a relationship with a younger classmate who for some strange reason got cold feet. He was prosecuted under these laws but since he was on the offender registry he even had his scholarship yanked. There was such an uproar that even the legislature had to intervene to clear his record.
Sex assault and sex offenses are certainly bad. But we need to provide mandated terms of incarceration. The sex offender list is one-size-fits-all. There is no misdemeanor list, no felony list. If you are an 18 YO who has sex with a 17 YO, you are on the list the same as a violent rapist. To the best of my knowledge, there is no clear and systematic method of getting off the list. I wonder if there has been a SCOTUS review of the whole idea.
