I like it when bulbous, blowhard Bannon is banned!
It seems Bannon is having a real hard time remembering that he’s not actually the fucking president!
…no matter how much he wears Trump as a hat.
How is it that John Kelly still has a job?
So, we have this.
Editor’s Note: […] After publication, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told The Post that Stephen Bannon did not travel to see Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly on the evening of Jan. 28.
And this.
Kelly, according to two administration officials familiar with the confrontation, refused to comply with Bannon’s instruction. That was the beginning of a weekend of negotiations among senior Trump administration staffers that led, on Sunday, to a decision by Trump to temporarily freeze the issuance of executive orders.
Respectfully but firmly, the retired general and longtime Marine told Bannon that despite his high position in the White House and close relationship with Trump, the former Breitbart chief was not in Kelly’s chain of command, two administration officials said. If the president wanted Kelly to back off from issuing the waiver, Kelly would have to hear it from the president directly, he told Bannon.
Bannon left Kelly’s office without getting satisfaction. Trump didn’t call Kelly to tell him to hold off. Kelly issued the waiver late Saturday night, although it wasn’t officially announced until the following day.
Both cannot be true at the same time. So either one of the sides is telling the truth, and the other is lying (and I don’t care about trivial if the conversation was actually face-to-face via President Bannon’s visit to DHS or via phone – I’m only interested in whether this conversation took place or not).
So who is telling the truth?
I know where my money is…
Forget Trump (for now). Impeach Bannon. He is one scary, sick individual and it’s appalling that he’s so close to the center of power. I suspect things will not end well for him.
The day the Executive branch ignores court orders is the day we are no longer a divided power Democracy ruled by law.
Edit: Ironic that Bannon is reading Halberstam’s The Best and the Brightest re the little mistakes “smart” advisors made early on that led to big mistakes later on in the Vietnam war decision making.
You can rest assured that Bannon and his WH flunkies are not truthful—ever, about anything.
I may not like Kelly—and I really don’t—he has no history of willful lying about such things.
I think Bannon may have a nasty accident or contract a mysterious fatal disease sometime quite soon.
Presidential aides may not be impeached.
And if you seriously believe that a self-serving idiot like Paul Ryan is going to impeach anyone connected to a GOP-run White House, then I have a big bridge in Brooklyn to sell you—cheap.
Colbert says Bannon is “the handsomest guy in the liquor store.”
I know. Just a figure of speech.
Bannon represents Trump’s id whereas there’s no one to counteract him by acting as Trump’s superego.
Last para says this is only the first in a battle for the heart and feeble mind of trumpee.
But there’s a good chance that this won’t be the last time Kelly, Mattis and Tillerson will have to confront Bannon and Miller. Score their first battle as a tie.
You and I are exactly on the same page re the WH scumbags vs Kelly. Also worth mentioning is President Bannon has it on tape that he wants to restrict legal immigrants as well, and this story does not contradict with that position either.
What liquor store is that? I think he’d be pretty skeevy no matter where he is.
But now if Colbert said he’s handsome for a Bowery bum, I’d say okay. That works.
It’s astounding to watch this moron bumble his way through a coup thinking he’s being a stealthy, Machiavellian, “power behind the throne”, operator. all the while tripping over his own two feet and overreaching like the amateur hour idiot he is, only getting away with it because the media is too afraid of being called biased, and the GOP Congress more concerned with trying to get as much as they want to satisfy their own personal greed before suddenly finding their “morals” (if they ever do).
I keep thinking of the Debbie Allen quote from the movie Fame, “You got big dreams, you want fame, well here’s were you start paying for it.” (or something like that). Bannon your followers have no power, it’s confined to the internet. You and Trump are going be found un-useful as village idiots once the Republicans in Congress get Trump to sign what they want signed, butthere is some infighting in the Hall of Congress and you two can either use it to your advantage or get your next gig lined up and quit.
Its just me, but the moment when Kelly leaves, Mattis will be right behind him.
Bannon is clearly a white supremacist if not a neo-nazi. The fact that Trump hired him as a senior advisor strikes me as treasonous and should be grounds fo impeachment. In any case, Bannon has to go.
Le’t also remember that instead of standing up against President Bannon and his PeePee puppet about this Muslim ban, Mitch McConnel and Paul Ryan have kept hiding behind Kelly and Mattis.
Those cowardly, shameful, opportunistic, hypocritical traitors should die in flames and I wouldn’t be sorry for them even a bit.
