Discussion: WaPo: Cheney Talked To Rubio About Supporting Tillerson Nomination

F. Scott Fitzgerald

“The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function.”

Now try this: Senator with a backbone — Marco Rubio.

Of course he will cave. Next question?

Rubio: I always supported Tillerson. Liberal Twitter is lying as usual.

But can he be bothered to show up for the vote? And how much will he get to bill the RNC’s black card?

Also, can someone dig up how much Exxon stock Cheney has purchased recently?

What the fuck is going on here? Cheney is total war hawk and now he’s a Russian sympathizer. This makes no sense to me. Something is going on, there are too many anti-Russian Republicans who have drank the cool aide.

$$$

Like Bob Dole whoring himself out for the Taiwanese, these greedy bastards are snapping up every last goddamn penny they can get their tiny hands on before they croak. Putin behaves much the same way with the Russian economy. Perhaps they’ve finally realized their common overriding goal?

Well this Tillerson nomination hearing should be an eye opener. It will be a chance to pin down what Trump and his administration’s world view is. I agree with part of Rubio’s statement : “The next secretary of state must be someone who views the world with moral clarity, is free of potential conflicts of interest, has a clear sense of America’s interests, and will be a forceful advocate for America’s foreign policy goals to the president, within the administration, and on the world stage.”
Also we’ll need to keep a scorecard for all of Trump’s nominations for who has tie to Putin (riches man in the world), and how close of ties are they.

You don’t smell the money to be made because I guess you have a decent moral values. You still have your soul don’t you?

but Tillerson opponents would need more than two Republicans to vote against Tillerson in order to block his confirmation.

I get that but I can’t wait to hear is some one actually go on the record for what Trump’s foreign policy will be. What will he tolerate and who will/what will he defend. We can get all snarky and joke about the machinations of Republicans but this will be the time for them to either stand with the old guard and what they stood for or announce their new world view. I realize there is no use in trying to pin down Trump because not only is he’s view of the world transactional but, to put a finer point on it, he lies and lies about lying while lying.

OT: I can’t get Apple’s Ruble symbol to show up properly in Firefox (just getting the box). Since I feel I’ll be using it more and more, does anyone have an add-on to suggest?

Oil futures.

I’m just thrilled to know that he continues to influence world politics. He should have been tried and convicted for war crimes. When I think what he and the rest of them got away with, thanks in part to the MSM, I want to break something.

Traitor.
