Discussion: WaPo CEO: Trump Standing With Saudis Despite Khashogghi Murder Is 'A Betrayal'

One more atrocity in the administration. One more moment in which the president shows how small and lacking of common human thought he is capable of. His people can cheer his “winning”, but I do not see it. It is an endless chain of moments with never a redeeming one to offset the others. To truly support him means you have to be like him in some form, enough to not be repulsed by his behavior. And if you are repulsed, then you are triangulating with a devil that will burn you as you stand there and never blink.

Betrayal?

Nah, just plain old GOP values, exemplified by the Traitor-in-Chief.

Money trumps morality.

Same as it ever was.

I don’t want to be anywhere near moron’s twitter feed when the “fake news” bullshit breaks out. Oh, and the swipes at Bezos. And Amazon.

And we still aren’t at the stage where Dems have control of the house, nor has Mueller’s report come out.

Say it. And keep saying it. I’d like to see more journalists stressing norms versus noxious. How outside the boundaries this administration goes sometimes is mentioned, but further discussion is rare.
The upset of norms is not inherently bad. Nevertheless, erratic inconsistent upsetting of norms makes it really difficult to function individually or as a part of government. Not to mention the effect on third parties reliant on your conduct. We are experiencing trickle down chaos.

It is exactly what you should expect from a person who has financial entanglements with the Saudi government.

The real scandal with Ivanka (and Jared) is that they have been wheeling and dealing on behalf of the Trump Org with the Saudis.

So they have leverage on him when it comes to criticizing murder…

What do you expect from a traitor like trump!

I agree, but it’s even better as president Trump, i.e., with the small peepee.

Where have we heard this before?

“Well, he denies it. Look, he denies it. I mean, if you look at what is really going on, and you look at all the things that have happened over the last 48 hours, he totally denies it. He says it didn’t happen and you have to listen to him also… That’s all I can say, he denies it and, by the way, he totally denies it.”

a betrayal of the long-established American values of respect for human rights and the expectation of trust and honesty in our strategic relationships.

Trump is the enemy of American values. Trump considers trust and honesty to be vulnerabilities. Trump is too short-sighted and simple-minded to navigate strategic relationships, and if he were not, he would be opposed to them.

I wish Fred Ryan had decided to act on this before Trump refused to chastise a wealthy strongman who murdered one of Ryan’s charges.

Prez. 2 Scoops Crime Boss’ response: Murderous dictators ¯\_(ツ) _/¯.

Let’s see those Jarvanka emails. I’m going out on a limb to predict that Abbe Lowell classified inevitable begging for Saudi and/or Russian money to prop up failed real estate deals as “personal.”
