Discussion: Wall Street Journal Escalates Feud With Trump: ‘The Truth Hurts’

George Bush vs Bob Dole. Dole bungled what was initially thought to be his nomination for the taking. Cratered in less than a month.

Why not both? :innocent:

That photo is soooo awesome. Just look at that child-hand. Dude could probably wear panties without tucking.

Can he actually snap those stumpy little digits?

Self-awareness is not one of his strong suits. Heck, he probably doesn’t even understand what it is.

There’s no getting through to some people. They’ll catch on part way through Hillary’s second term.

Drumpf reads it, that’s what matters…

On what basis do you hold out such hope?

They still haven’t caught on 7/8ths of the way through Obama’s terms in office.

With “fronds” like these, who needs “enemas?”

A right-wing rag goes after a right-wing skank. What’s not to like? Oh, and Donald, I don’t think Papa Rupert will like it very much if you threaten to send some of your Nazi minions to harass WSJ reporters. Try suing HIM, Donnie Baby. I think he has a little more money than you.

I think that the Donald is not reliably conservative. Let our Republican friends put up Ted Cruz.

Remembering all the Time it’s the Murdoch Street Journal and they still play pattycakes with him 24 - 7 on Faux nooze because he’s good for ratings

WSJ writes editorial bashing the candidate that THEY BUILT out of the dead parts of the Dixiecrats, John Birchers, KKK, and the American Nazi Party.
Now their Monster turns on them in a rage.
Mary Shelly’s estate should sue them for plagiarism.

Also helps to distract from the tiny hands when everything else is hanging out.

Putting aside the horrific potential consequences for a moment, a Trump nomination is going to make for some fascinating television… and the strong potential for a contested convention? Hot damn.

In all seriousness, a GOP civil war has been brewing for a long time. This is how I’ve always imagined it starting - the establishment turning on the base, and vice-versa.

“Shit to a wall thrown by monkeys”. Probably the most apt description of the Republican Party I have heard in years. I’m borrowing that one!

I suspect that there is an element of cognitive dissonance, mixed with a heavy dose of denial behind this phenomenon.

There used to be a theory (which, though it may have been an urban myth, had a certain plausibility) about how defenses should select jurors for rape trials, that posited that it was likely that selecting women would be in the best interests of the defendant.

The theory was that the female jurors would try to find something in the victim’s behavior that would account for her being raped, because then, all they had to do to protect themselves from being raped was to avoid that behavior, whereas the truth of the matter is that if someone more powerful than you wants to mistreat you, your behavior, let alone your preference, is likely to be of little import to him.

As I have pointed out before, a person as full of himself as Mr. Trump is cares little for the impact of his behavior on others, and will turn on even his most loyal supporters in an instant if he believes it suits his momentary purpose.

The WSJ is a great paper if you read the news section. It’s the Op-Ed that is a complete joke. But the news section is generally liberal or moderate, and has a wealth of information.

I’ve posted this before, but the News Dept and the Op-Ed Dept are said to be as polarized as North and South Korea.

Pick up a copy and check it out yourself. Many of their news staff are liberal actually.
