Discussion: Wall Street Journal Escalates Feud With Trump: ‘The Truth Hurts’

Trump: Who listens to a paper which endorsed George Bush and thinks unpaid wars were a great idea? They would like someone like Little Marco/Cruz/Kasich who can be controlled easily.

Very giggle inducing, but there was a discussion on Lawrence last night about how much white population is available to vote for a Trumpet. Not much is the conclusion, and even less than for Mitt. People of color won’t turn out for him, and didn’t for Mitt either, so who’s left.

Hillary: I think general election presidential debates should be between Conservative Media and Trump with me as the moderator.

What I find bemusing about the proto-fascist man-child Drumpf’s “nobody cares what the WSJ says” crying jag on Twitter is, he obviously cares or he wouldn’t have gone on his crying jag.

Similarly, his support among women baffles. Well, baffles many. I’ve said it here 100 times, and I’ll say it again, the only people that hate women more than Republican men are Republican women.
If a politician gave speeches and was constantly quoted mouthing stone cold racist epithets Blacks would reject him/her. Anti-semitic slurs would alienate Jews. Anti-immigrant harangues have proven to tank Trump’s polling for that segment of the populace. Yet he can slander and criticize and be blatantly cruel to women and this is what greets him:

The WSJ, another Rupert Murdoch mouthpiece, is giving Trump a harder time than the NYT or Washington Post. Another example of the Republican establishment doing their utmost to stop Trump.

Only problem here is that the only people who read the WSJ are other plutocrats types. Preaching to the choir, I’d say.

Too bad the suit is full of holes and threadbare in places, but ignore that because it’s shiny and loud!

So, in other words, you’re hoping that nothing changes.

His inability to resist striking back is what gives me confidence that Trump would not win in the general election. He’s so easy to goad, and seems unable to contain his instinct to respond for more than a day or two. While Clinton works on demonstrating the contrast between her understanding of the job and Trump’s understanding, people and groups outside her campaign can work on provoking very unpresidential (and unwise) responses from Trump.

It’s the same phenomenon as convicted serial rapist-murderers receiving bunches of love letters and marriage proposals.

A day or two? He can’t last but a matter of a few hours at best. He’s the premature ejaculation of responders.

Numbers aside, the notion that Trump is the weakest Republican front-runner in history is BS. I’m not ancient but I remember McCain, Romney, and GW Bush in their primary elections. Relative to the Republican primary Donald Trump is/was stronger than all three of those.

This Republican primary has been over since the Iowa Caucus when we learned that the polls were real and that Trump’s support among the voters would not collapse Howard Dean-style. Josh and others in the press called it after South Carolina. Trump may be weak in the general, although I don’t think he’ll be as weak as people on the left think he will be, but judged in terms of likeliness to win the Republican nomination, he is the strongest non-incumbent at least since Poppa Bush, whose primary I don’t remember.

Voters falling down the Rabbit Hole with Trump assume the dynamics of the person passing the point of no return: where the journey back is greater than the eventual destination.

In this case, when the Leader brings the mark to the Promised Land.
