Hyping problems that don’t exist for fun and profit.
So did anyone ask him to explain or justify this policy proposal? TPM? Anyone? 'Cause if they did, it’s not reported here. At least make the little piece of shit squirm a bit. Keerysteallmighty.
This must test well with focus groups in Wisconsin. Otherwise, why admit to something so inflammatory?
Better idea would be to test the legislators!
Another bagger who doesn’t understand the concept of Federal Supremacy. If he proceeds, he should have to personally pay for the resulting lawsuits.
Standard right-wing horseshit. Isn’t this part of their official platform?
Is this pandering to his base, a divide and conquer strategy or both?
And members of state legislature too?
Yup, pointing their finger at others while they stick their other hand deep in your pocket.
This punkass Kochsucker needs his ass kicked.
“Our goal here is not to make it harder to get government assistance; it’s to make it easier to get a job.”
Oh yeah: So how is that Job Creation going, Scott?
it tests well with Friends of Scott Walker…
Obviously this is intended to polarize the electorate and make people turn to their inner bigot in the voting booth.
I’m not sure what’s worse - that a governor would propose something that humiliates his constituents, or that there are millions of people out there who think this is a great idea. Let’s call it a draw - they are both horrible.
I hope the people of Wisconsin get rid of this guy next election.
You first, Gov.!
Snott Walker needs to read the news once in a while.
Florida Law on Drug Tests for Welfare Is Struck Down
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/01/us/florida-law-on-drug-testing-for-welfare-is-struck-down.html?_r=0
KEY WEST, Fla. — A federal judge on Tuesday struck down as unconstitutional a Florida law that required welfare applicants to undergo mandatory drug testing, setting the stage for a legal battle that could affect similar efforts nationwide.
Judge Mary S. Scriven of the United States District Court in Orlando held that the testing requirement, the signature legislation of Gov. Rick Scott, a Republican who campaigned on the issue, violated the protection against unreasonable searches.
“The court finds there is no set of circumstances under which the warrantless, suspicionless drug testing at issue in this case could be constitutionally applied,” she wrote. The ruling made permanent an earlier, temporary ban by the judge.
Thing is, I can understand the shitheaded logic behind it.
But these people don’t seem to understand (or, let’s be honest here, these “good christians” don’t CARE) that it’s not the parents that will suffer on this one.
When florida tried to implement this, they found out that they spent more on testing than they recouped by denying benefits to people who tested positive.
A fiscal conservative would see this as a waste of money.
A social conservative would see it as another way to try to shame the poors.
I want to drug test Walker.
