He doesn’t get it and never will. The word “required” is the whole point in why it is so offensive to women. New rule: if you are not of the female gender and therefore cannot have a baby, you don’t get to make rules for people who can.

Liar, liar! Your law requires an ultrasound, traditional or transvaginal. Require is not the same as “be given access to …”

It’s exactly like the Duggar defenders who think teenagers having sex is the same as Josh’s “incidents” - they make no distinction based on the fact that that one kind is consensual and the other isn’t (and with his sisters, no less). The family friend quoted in the TPM article the other day (saying “no one should be shocked”) pretty much said this explicitly.

The idea that the only thing that people respond to is spin/marketing/advertising about a policy, rather than the policy itself, is a fundamental Republican belief.

(It’s a self-fulfilling prediction too–Republicans attract voters who have a lot of trouble discerning spin from substance.)

Hey, if I were a woman and had that growing inside me, I’d abort. I guess his mother was anti-choice or was forced to carry through … so she hit the bottle a few dozen times.

That forcing women seeking to have an abortion to have an ultrasound is perfectly okay as long as they are given a choice between the external ultrasound and the rapey kind.

if gov. walker were to volunteer to have the first “trans anal” ultrasound, to show the rest of us just how “cool” it is, I might be on board with this. I’m guessing not. the difficulty for the operator would, of course, be in determining just exactly where his anus is. tough call.
