Discussion for article #233815
My god Walker is such a chickenshit. He can’t stand up to his own party on something like immigration. How can he claim he’s strong enough to lead. It’s easy to stand up to your enemies, it’s hard to stand up to your supporters.
At last! A man who will LEAD! Ron Fournier’s heart glows!
His views haven’t changed at all, it’s just that he lied about them before.
FLIP…FLOP. So, what are his solutions for the millions already in the U.S.??
After he was questioned by “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace,
Walker said he no longer favors a path to citizenship, which he
indicated support for in 2013.
“I don’t believe in amnesty,” he said on Sunday. “We need to secure
the border. We ultimately need to put in place a system that works – a
legal immigration system that works.”
Support amnesty? That was so 2013! I’m running for President now!
Good luck with the Latino vote, sucker.
Here comes Governor Flippety Flop, flopping down the campaign trail, flippety floppety primaries are on their way!
Sigh. Look–I get that he has to do this if he is ever going to win the nomination, but didn’t he learn anything from Mitt “I’ll say anything to win” Romney?
These turds are basically writing off the Latino vote. They think either:
a.) JEB’s wife speaks Spanish and that’ll be enough get them to vote Rethug; or
b.) They didn’t turn out to vote in '14 so it won’t matter one way of the other. If the Dems couldn’t get them to come out in '14 then what are the chances of them getting them out in '16?
c.) There’s enough of a White vote out there so get them, And since Obama only got a “novelty” vote, what’s the problem??
I believe this man-child just disqualified himself for the Presidency. Maybe not the Republican primaries, but he sure is done-for as a mainstream candidate, if that’s what he thought he could pretend to be. You can’t lead a nation of immigrants and be against any path to citizenship. It runs contrary to what America is all about from our founding.
He’s a fucking joke.
Are TPers really stupid enough to fall for this? Wait! What am I saying? Of course, they are.
I’m glad he did it now. He just showed his cards that he’s really not a serious candidate. Only the rightwing fringe nutballs believe in what he just declared. That’s it. In the long run…he’s toast.
Be fair, you all: fighting a path to citizenship is as taxing as fighting ISIS but we know he’s up for it.
I’m glad he said it and I hope he wins the nomination. I wanted this showdown in the last 2 POTUS elections.
Sure he is up for it. He got all the training he needed fighting all those union thugs.
stand up to? he’s saying exactly what he’s told/paid to say by the koch bros. tell the teatards what they want to hear and shut them up so he can get down to the real work of a gop sock puppet – remove the last vestigial traces of democracy that get in the way of ALEC’s feudal oligarch utopia. he doesn’t give a shit about anything other that himself. he cares about immigration like he cares about gay marriage, which is to say, personally, not at all.
He already had a tall hill to climb in Ohio and PA. Now he has one in FLA too.
You have to have a mighty strong backbone to bend so much or some bullshit like that.
He’s making himself toxic as a VP nominee too.
But he’s not against a path to citizenship! He’s against amnesty.
And Acorn. And Benghazi. And Fast N’ Furious!
Plus, he single-handedly fought off 100,000s of union protesters! He’s the American Putin-Netanyahu!
Thing is, he’s probably surrounded by syncophants, just like Romney was, and has no understanding (or curiosity, for that matter) what those outside that bubble think.
