Omni Bus, no driver.

Passengers must stay behind this white line while this omnibus is operating. O.K., well, this line. Umm, how about this line? No? Oh what the hell, passengers feel free to come grab the wheel and we’ll see what happens.

new republican strategy. no more yearly budgets. we will go to the 5 day budget. we can now threaten to shut down the government on a weekly basis.

"Deadlines come and deadlines go. We want to make sure that we get it right.”

Man, if I said something like that to my boss about, say, submitting my student’s grades for the semester, I would be asked not to come back next semester. Talk about not living in the real world.

Deadlines are supposed to mean do not go beyond this point. They are there for a reason, at least for things like this. Not to mention this sort of thing is stupid because even what they pass still has to go to the Senate and then the president. Any reasonable party would realize what it would take to get through the other branches.

I fear they make this a stand off with conservative low hanging fruit everywhere and it has to gradually be taken off.

I thought that before Boehner left he passed a budget funding the government through 2017? Wasn’t that his big ‘gift’ to Paul Ryan before he left? How does that story jive with this one? Did Boehner never get it passed through the House?

This is the true war on Christmas.

“Deadlines come and deadlines go,” said Paul Ryan. Well then – they’re not really “deadlines,” are they? More like guidelines or rough reference points. Remember that the next time you hear some windbag Teabagger like Paul Ryan whining that “time is running out.”

It would be nice if Congress was subjected to the same rules as rank and file workers who, if they don’t get their work done, have to come in on weekends or holidays.

Playing a wonk on TV is a lot harder than corralling unruly teanuts.

An earlier story said Ryan is a lot more engaged in the details than ol’ orange face. Well, maybe that’s cuz boehner knew that there was no magic line item that was going to please the budget arsonists. And Ryan is learning that being able to write fantasy budgets is a lot different that crafting passable ones. Who wooda thawt?

Who is negotiating? republicans among themselves? Are Democrats involved? This story is unclear.
