They gotta keep shaking that hornets nest to keep 'em riled up.
An “empty showboat that’s a good way to distract from what’s going on.” Much like Cruz himself.
And we pay these people, insure they have medical and pension benefits, what an outrage,
MEMO TO MITCH:
in the giddy aftermath of the 2014 election you made a promise to show America how REAL statesmen govern…
when do you start to actually fulfill your promise?
Is it only me? Or do others of average intelligence recognize that the Republicans in the Senate and House are worthless idiots.
Instead of attempting to pass needed legislation (infrastructure, banking, taxes, etc.) they waste time pushing votes on subjects that only appeal to their drooling supporters who have crawled out of the inch deep gene that pool epitomizes Republicans.
Hateful people unfit to be Senators. Shame on them.
They didn’t use reconciliation?
Gosh, I wonder why???
Gosh, he’s been doing that all along. See when your party doesn’t believe in government at all you got to prove it by sabotaging it at every chance you can!
you’re being WAAAYYY too generous about the depth of the gene pool
Republicans doing what Republicans do best . . . waste time and money.
The Senate only has 50+ more votes to repeal Obamacare to catch up to the House.
I take it the Senators don’t have anything to do.
If they were only worthless it would be a great improvement. They provide excellent return on investment to the oligarchs who buy them with pocket change.
OH goodie another million or so spent on a meaningless vote and on a Sunday yet… how good of the folks who keep telling me they are the responsible ones when it comes to my tax dollars…
Let me think about this. Who was the clown that filibustered for 21 hours by reading Green Eggs and Ham over the ACA? Oh, that’s right, Mr. Phony.
On a positive note, Mitch McConnell is scheduling a vote that, if the Senate passes, the president has little objection to… it is called the Size of the Earth Bill. It clearly limits the control any legislative body has in changing the size of the Earth. Voting is expected to be along party line, but there appears to be enough bi-partisan support for it to pass. This could possibly be the only bill McConnell ever sponsors that has a chance of support in the House. Hopefully, SCOTUS will not be called upon to hear any cases contesting its Constitutionality… but lawsuits are always possible.
In contrast to most media blabbers, I have been predicting since the King decision that ACA-repeal will not be a big issue in 2016. We still have a year and three months until the election, and that’s a lot of time for more people to become invested in the ACA. Every day, people get treatment they wouldn’t have gotten before, or lose their jobs and realize they can still get health coverage. Every day, the ranks are growing of those who have something concrete and immediate to lose if the ACA is repealed.
Jeb is being very careful about what he says on the ACA, leaving himself a lot of wiggle room. Look for this issue to fade as Republicans gradually realize it’s a loser for them.
It’s not just you. Even Republicans and Indies are turning thumbs down.
The current survey finds that positive views of the GOP among Republicans have declined 18 percentage points since January, from 86% to 68%. Independents also view the Republican Party less favorably; 29% today, compared with 37% six months ago.
KLANG! Worst, most ineffectual Congress in the nation’s history.
