A liberal solution to a conservative problem…
“Devoid of rangers, the parks have seen local employees and park aficionados pitching in to donate toilet paper…”
Thanks to Republicans, we can’t have nice things any more.
Garbage in and around the White House.
People who trash our public lands have no respect for them nor the public employees who maintain them. Those same people demand to be rescued when trouble hits them in the wilderness. It is those same public employees who scramble crews to haul out the injured and maimed.
The sense of a collective fate must prevail if there is any hope for us…
It is only through these acts that such hope is manifested and therefore I heartily applaud it…
I did not know that you could see the White House from New Jersey…
Learn something new everyday…
Disgusting but symbolic of this POTUS.
Surprised Trump has not sent the Guard to arrest the Volunteers.
Destruction of our National Parks is one of his objectives.
I remember parts of NJ not being among the cleanest or prettiest places, although there are some there.
Meanwhile, Zinke writes a fallacious love letter to the Trumpist cause in red ink.
Highly appropriate considering how in the red everything about Zinke, Trump and all the other grifters and traitors is going to leave this country.
True enough, Princeton was always a beautiful little enclave…
And there is always Staten Island for the Jerseyites to piss on…
This is a total failure of government because of Trump and Republican intransigence. While I’m deeply appreciative of the volunteers, picking up litter in National Parks is no more their duty than churchgoers having to pony up because a member of their congregation has cancer and is uninsured.
Government can very effectively address these issues when given a chance.
South NJ is pretty nice.
Still not as bad as the garbage in the White House, but getting there.
Been there, too, although it’s been a while. It was hit pretty hard during Hurricane Sandy, wasn’t it?
Watch some republican arguing that volunteers did such a good job we don’t need a park service. And then another arguing that employees did such a bad job during the shutdown that we don’t need a park service.
I feel sorry for the tourists who tried to use the trash cans near the white house. There are big chunks of federally-operated land in downtown DC where non-government trash cans are really not an option.
Trump always wants to force people to work for free. That is his whole business model.
yes, it got smoked by the storm surge…
