Discussion for article #244048
Although probably within his power, needless to say, the IRA will be all over this.
Another nonproductive move by a Democrat lawyer with little grasp of the situation.
State crime stats show that very little crime or non-defensive violence is by concealed carry permit holders.
“Full faith and credit”?
Don’t you mean the NRA? IRA is a retirement account.
Then there shouldn’t be a problem, right? What’s the issue here?
You JUST typed what I was going to write! Thank you for that.
Also: it’s the NRA who’ll be all over this. I doubt the Irish Republican Army could give a sh*t.
Other states, if they had half a brain, would have dropped Virginia from reciprocity long ago. That’s because the “training,” glass Virginia allows, in order to demonstration “gun competence,” can be as simple as watching a 1-hour video online then printing your “qualifications” off on your own printer.
Seriously, you could get a carry permit in Virginia if you have never touched a gun in your life.
So much for the Right believing in State’s Rights. Actually, that’s a joke. They actually believe power should be concentrated at whatever level they hold a majority.
This is great stuff! With the reprise of states rights we find each state issuing it’s own gun regulations which often conflict with the regs of states that border them and so on…adding to the absurdity of concealed weapons on campus’s and in churches, etc. is the confusion of who can be armed in what way where.
If the state were really concerned about their citizens, they’d take this a step further and add Virginia to the list.
Florida is apparently little better. A Daily Show reporter got a FL concealed carry permit by taking an NRA gun “safety” course and sending the certificate of completion to FL with a check. He wasn’t a FL resident at the time!
Nobody should have reciprocity agreements with FL; from the sound of it, VA should go on that list too.
Tell that to MIssouri. Since loosening their once strict gun laws in 2007 their murder rate has soared.
So, if the speed limit in, say, North Dakota is 65, you should be able to drive that speed in any other state, regardless of that state’s laws?
I don’t think you know what “full faith and credit” means.
Hence the question mark; I was asking for input on why it might or might not apply. Do you have any?
Wagonmound no doubt meant the terrorist IRA.
A baby step for mankind
A giant leap for keeping humans alive.
You’d be surprised…
Sorry Donald for stealing your line, but this is YOOOOOOOGE!
States’ rights baby, the south is gonna’ will rise again!
I do not see how this would violate the Second Amendment at all. So long as the states are doing the figuring they are within their power to restrict this sort of thing coming from outside. Really, many states are stupid for accepting permits from other states. As one could really go to the place with the lowest standards and then be ready to legally carry in all of the others.
