Discussion for article #239791
So, how does one test for “disgruntled employee” when doing background checks? Its all BS. Get handguns off the street. Period.
McAuliffe, who described himself as a hunter and gun owner, said there is “too much” gun violence in America.
The disconnect is strong in this one.
Yes, the normal players in whatever State has this happen will mouth the normal platitudes, express the normal sympathy, display the normal outrage, and in a few days everything will be back to normal.
Normal except for the families shattered by this nations normal gun violence.
Governor, you make me sick. Too much gun violence said, but you can’t help but plug your PRO GUN stance in the next breath.
Disgruntled = NRA target audience.
Soon the usual cadre of Righties ammosexual politicos, pundits and assorted nutjobs of Baggerlandia will be out suggesting, ala Piyush after the Layfayette shooting, that “…now is not the time to discuss gun related violence”; “We need more guns not fewer or only the bad guys will have guns.” ; “The 2nd Amendment protects our rights to drown in guns & ammo and it’s more important than lives, because …freedumb’!” …and in the end, their argument will be the same as always: “If you can’t correct all tragic gun violence that has ever happened or ever will happen and do it perfectly, you should do nothing.” The Rightie Gunny Boo Boos will shout, “Hallelujah! That’s right!” And little or nothing will be done.
To get anything done he will need to prove his bona fides as a gun owner and thus not a reactionary liberal.
Hand guns are the issue mostly, hunting rifles, less so.
I’m willing to pay this part pass,if he follows up with action.
Thank you. In the state of Virginia, one of the easiest states to get a handgun, the Governor has to play up to the gun nuts to some extent. Has to. Can’t get anything done other wise.
Baby steps. It took a certain amount of political courage to go this far in Virginia even though the bulk of the voters in Virginia agree with him.
The real cure is when voters refuse to vote for anyone who has a high NRA rating.
Like I said earlier, there’s nothing random about the murders.
Jesus.
We didn't share this publicly, but @AParkerWDBJ7 and I were very much in love. We just moved in together. I am numb. pic.twitter.com/tUrHVwAXcN

Easy there. McAuliffe is a Dem (former DNC head, in fact) in a purple state. If he plays his cards carefully, he may actually be able to rally support for more sensible gun control.
Why, you have a single question on the questionnaire they must fill out:
- Are you now, or have you ever been “Disgruntled”?
See? Problem solved.
Did he watch the fucking video? “Background checks” is his bold idea? What a clown.
Or maybe his advocacy will stop at “background checks” and in two weeks we’ll all go back to pretending this shit never happened.
Agreed. Beyond the “disgruntled employee” angle, this has a stalker vibe to it. It certainly seems one of the three, most likely the young reporter, was targeted.
If they commit a crime against people in the workplace, yes. If they are unhappy with their job but happen to kill a person in another scenario, the disgruntled employee thing is not relevant.
Workplace violence is a crime stat that needs to be tracked. This is a case of that. The second scenario I referenced is not.
The NRA membership comprises less than 1 percent of the population, yet they control 100 percent of the people. How does that work?
I think it’s Obama’s fault and probably has some connection to him being a muslim not born in america, African…hey it works for every other problem…
I’m sure the fact that Gov McAullife is a gun owner and hunter will be of great comfort to the victims’ families. And I’m sure that information is relevant somehow.
