By the way - that wasn’t a rhetorical question I put to you. I’m afraid that the Democratic call for an investigation by law enforcement is largely a stalling tactic. If the lieutenant governor were a Republican, would they oppose a legislative investigation? Color me dubious.

An investigation by the legislature is different from one by law enforcement. It is not intended to judge Fairfax’s guilt or innocence of crime, but his fitness for his office. That is a legislative function, and it is one that should not be delayed for the year or more than separate criminal investigations–because the offenses are alleged to have occurred in two states–would take.

If you can’t tell the difference in knowledge, responsibility, and understanding between children and adults, you have probably done something wrong in your own past. Children are not adults. Adults need to be taking responsibility. Children have different rules. Perhaps you didn’t know that.
