Discussion: Virginia GOP Blocks Medicaid Expansion After Democrat Resigns

Discussion for article #223893

The GOPigs continue the legacy of Dubya’__whose words forever spoke for and perfectly encapsulated the modern Republican Party:
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
Aug. 6, 2004…George W. Bush

They get the people they voted for. Democrats need both a better ground game and do a better job of defining the issues and how they impact the State.

But why?

Can anyone offer an explanation that makes sense?

Seems as if they will lose their majority over this, so many of their own age demographic will be the ones who suffer, so who or what are they really protecting when they deny Medicaid expansion? Who benefits.

We know who suffers, but really, who benefits?

IS it just stubborn ideology, or is there a real beneficiary that we can identify?

Well, the end justifies any means when you’re the ethics-free GOP.

The people voted for a split senate. The people who voted for Phil Puckett have no representation at all on this issue right now. I guess you get the Senate that corrupt Republican bureaucrats want for you.

I’m looking forward to the bribery prosecutions, I admit. It seems pretty clear-cut. Unless he called them and said “I’d like this job”, it was almost certainly prosecutable as a bribe.

If someone calls a politician and says “Hey, I’ll give you a sweet job, but it’s contingent on you resigning in the next two weeks”, it’s a bribe. Especially in this case, given that there was no reason to hurry him accepting that specific job.

You know, I know it’s a cult, and they think they’re fighting to save civilization. It’s crazy, but that’s what they believe, fine. Except they’re taking health care away from poor people and food away from poor children because they see an advantage to doing that. They’re fighters for civilization who’ve lost, in the fight, much claim to being civilized people themselves.

Republicans delight in death and suffering. This has nothing much to do with their rationalizations. They believe in a God who inflicts disease on people, and believe their God is just, even when the disease inflicted is upon themselves. Of course, to the extent they know themselves well, if there were a just God he would inflict disease on them. So this is a self-justifying belief.

They vote for Republicans because Republicans aren’t Democrats. It’s the only thing they care about.
When they say that they vote for Republicans because they think that Republicans will support a functioning society, it only proves their lack of reading comprehension skills.

I love Jesus… and I hate poor people.

The GOP claims to be for the people, free enterprise and blah, blah and more blah. Apparently helping citizens who have no health care insurance options is not part of the helping the people hyperbole. Lets hope the voters are paying attention and toss the bums out come November.

Pretty clear the GOP does not want poor people to have health care. It’s only for the privileged.

It is pure anti POTUS behavior. They should hang their heads in shame for denying 400,000 Virginians healthcare. How do they sleep at night?

People will die. GOP=death.

…and Dem elected officials who have an ethic or two.
