As “tackles” go, that was pretty gentle.

At some Bush event back in 2004 (maybe Denver, IIRC) some protester held up a sign in a similarly peaceful fashion, and was rushed and slammed to the ground by a guy in a manner that you might do if the protester had instead been aiming a gun at the President. Never saw a follow up on that one, but if I had been the protester I would have charged the guy with assault.

I don’t condone elder-tackling, generally, but those guys weren’t so young themselves and it was funny because they were all “Oh no you don’t,” just briskly de-signed the guy. Ridiculous sign anyway, grow up and stop with all the Benghazi already.

Maybe the old guy with the sign had dementia. You have to wonder why they let him in with the sign in the first place if they didn’t want him to show it.

Whichever it was I do not condone silencing a peaceful protest even for views this stupid and unhinged.

Actually it was more like veterans assaulted another veteran who, right or wrong, was expressing his opinion. Way to go fellows, your grasp of democracy is quite laughable. Maybe you are veterans of the ~~Russian~~ Soviet army.
