Was also looking for a little more info, since TPM seems to be a bit more focused on the video’s existence as the story rather than the story as the story. First thing I came across was this on Yahoo News:
“homeless individual known by his street name, Africa”
I stopped bothering at that point since the whole thing went all Onion almost instantly upon finding the first new tidbit of info. Fuck you, reality, fuck you.
Please. Nothing on the internet is truly gone. Just ask the victims of revenge porn. The video should pop up shortly and somebody will be kind enough to link.
Still available on Los Angeles Times website (they’ve even enhanced the video
(Just because something isn’t on social media doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.)
The video is still available on the Beeb, along with more information.
So messed up. What happened to beating people with clubs? Still fucked up, but not necessarily lethal.
OK, he went for your gun. Well, he can’t go for your gun if he has to go for your nightstick because that’s what you brought to the party.
So messed up.
“No-one approaches the body again for one minute and 13 seconds,”
Un-fucking-believable. No check for vitals, no first aid, no nothing. If the shooting itself wasn’t evidence of him being executed, their callousness towards him after certainly is.
“Nothing to see here, just walk on by…”
The police are always in the right, they’re never at fault even when they shoot a 12 YO kid playing with a toy gun it’s the kid’s own fault that the trained professional police officers couldn’t do their job without resorting to murder of a 12 YO child. Trained professionals VS 12 YO kid playing with a toy. Yeah, it’s his fault, the 12 YO child should’ve known better than the trained pros and known he couldn’t play with a toy. [eyeroll] There’s no perfection in human beings except the police obviously. I mean they’re never at fault, and never in the wrong. Human perfection exists only in one place in the world, the US police force. Pathetic.
The Pope could take lessons from the American police on infallibility.
I think we’re likely to see history repeat itself. In the early days of chariot warfare there were two men on a chariot: the driver and a bowman or spearman. However, before long a third man was added. Known simply as “the third man”, his job was to shield and protect the other two.
I think we are likely to see a reenactment in the near future. Instead of two-man patrol car teams, they will be augmented by a “third man”. While the two in the front seat eliminate the threat to peace and security, the “third man” will protect them by making sure that no one is filming the scene.
five shots at point blank range rang out you know?
Callousness was evident at that point as well.
