This is the exact problem that those opposed to guns on campus have been concerned about. In a previous position, I ran an cheating/fabrication board for a methods course, required for undergrads. Despite huge efforts by professors such as myself, undergrads would cheat. We gave failing grades, requiring a retake of the class. In some cases, folks would be bounced from the College. Not a good situation for them, but cheating is wrong. Had some been armed, I could easily imagine myself in the position of this tragically murdered professor.
