Discussion: Very Few People Could Get Confirmed If Trump Fires Sessions—And None Of Them Wants The Job

It seems like forever now, Ive been asking what kind of rat wants to board the sinking ship? The answer, made clear at last by Kellyanne’s anonymous op-ed, is an arrogant rat, who thinks she’s saving the ship from sinking singlehandedly. There’s no shortage of arrogant rats in DC, so I guess I don’t see the problem.

Nobody willing to sign up to be Trump’s verbal punching bag? Who would have guessed?

Trump does not understand that those he considers real men do not like serving a sissy like himself.
Some are using him for their own agendas and some are trying to protect our country and some are starting to understand this fuck head is destroying our country.

Trump wants a pit bull defender, someone in the role who would only answer to him and look out for his interests.
Shorter version
He wants a lackey who will violate the constitution.
Oh remember all the hubub that Eric Holder was “too close” to Obama
Quaint times indeed

The only person who wants the job is Eric.

David Clarke, Chris Christie and Scott Baio are all available.

So, we can’t remove and replace a racist Attorney General who is holding a record 12,800 migrant children in detention?

Just like we can’t remove the literally insane and criminal President who nominated him.

All legal. All Constitutional.

Well, Jared has a law degree, although I don’t know that he’s ever practiced. To follow up on
@old_curmudgeon’s comment, perhaps one of the Beavis and Butthead duo could purchase a mail-order law degree so he can take the job. Where is Trump University when you really need it?

Oh, bullshit.

How about Janet Perino from Fox. Or Ann Coulter. Or Ted Cruz.

There are lots of rotten Republicans who will gladly screw the country for the Republican party and will get on their knees to lick the crap off the bottom of his shoes.

AND, what is even worse is that the Republicans in the Senate will vote for ANYBODY - even if the person murdered his own children.

This is not a sudden fit of decency. They know it’s all about to blow and they want to be standing well clear when it happens. They’re conscienceless and greedy, and they gambled they could control him and lost. Now they want to save themselves and tell us how troubled and concerned they were the whole time. A few had the foresight to make their reservations on the T&C bus early, but there’ll be plenty more buying tickets in the near future.

I’m not surprised that it’s hard to find another Republican senator who’s willing to trade their career for the unwashable stain of Trump.

I bet Devin Nunes would take the job, or maybe Rorbacher.

Thanks, that sounds right. If things come to a head – regardless of the reason, whether it’s Mueller, other lawsuits, or the avalanche of insider accounts of what a glorious and incompetent idiot he is – it will be hard to find a prominent Republican who admits to ever having been a Trump supporter. It will be all weasel phrases like “I supported aspects of his agenda, never supported the man himself”, all evidence of toady behavior to the contrary.

We should all remember what it was like a few years into the Gulf War, when it was clear there were no weapons of mass destruction, and the war had been a monumental screw-up/con job. The “freedom fries” crew were conspicuous by their absence and silence. For that matter, everyone’s right-wing relative – the one who used to mouth off at Thanksgiving about how only traitors and fools didn’t want to depose Saddam – had undergone selective amnesia and never supported the war being fought “that way” or some such nonsense.

Even when it looks like there’s no sanity to be found, things can turn on a dime. Public opinion always does that to politicians.

Think he’s really stupid enough to do it? Betcha even he would chicken out in the end…
