Snyder wants to raise the state sales tax now too, to pay for the give-aways he gave for lowering in-state corporate tax rates and lowering overall Michigan business taxes that used to pay for those road repairs. Not only that, but he doesn’t have the balls to mandate it or have his tax raising adverse rightwing legislature do the dirty deed through legislation, which would make him and the rest of these rightwing goons even bigger pariahs then they already are…Besides, no Rethug ever raises taxes on their own…No, he wants the public to vote on it in the next municipal elections I believe. So now we get to decide on whether to vote to fix the roads or screw ourselves and our pocketbooks to pay more for something businesses should have been paying for all along. Fuck that. And now that the roads look like shit…he wants those who can least afford it to pay more through what can only be termed a working-class person’s tax on consumption. He had the money and squandered it to give multiple tax breaks to his rich buddies as soon as he became Governor…so fuck him. If the roads remain like shit, hopefully no one will elect a Rethug in this state ever again. It didn’t have to be like this. Plus in Republican areas of the state…they’ve already gotten more help from the counties towards fixing the roads than in the Democratic southeast area of the state.

Why would Agema repost something that someone who - based on the color of his skin - cannot reason as well, cannot communicate well, cannot control their impulses or is a threat to all who crosses his path?

What happened to the 1.1 billion dollars Snyder requested and was supposed to receive from FEMA for last years flooding in the Metro Detroit area last August? That was supposed to cover Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. That’s what I want to know. Metro-Detroit roads are among the absolute worse in the entire state. Shouldn’t that money be an offset since that was initially where some of the worst road repairs were needed even before those flash floods arrived? If you ask me, that should have been a godsend, the money that is, not the floods.
The way Snyder has shifted the tax base away from businesses and towards working-class Michiganders has been not only shifty, but down-right loathsome. He’s not fooling anyone in the state by making people pay for something that could have been budgeted properly had the legislature made it a priority. They never did, even up to the very last seconds of the lame duck session. They waited till the very last minute to come up with this new scheme to make the voters decide on which way we want to screw ourselves. Now that’s Republican leadership for you in this state. Piss-poor governance, and never looking ahead to the future of our state. Not when there is still so much money to give away to your friends. He’s done the same with education. But then, that’s a whole other conversation.
