Discussion: UT Austin Repsonds To Mock Mass Shooting Protest

Discussion for article #243614

I guess we won’t be seeing Attack of the Dildos. That’s anti-climactic.

Geezuz H. Kreist.

Jesus Farting Christ…I hadn’t even put it together that this was the same campus as the clocktower shooting. This isn’t just trespassing, it’s insanely disrespectful and callused. I mean, it’s basically the same as choosing Sandy Hook Elementary or the theater in Aurora, CO as the site of a “mock mass shooting”…just a little further removed in time.

These people are fucking sociopaths.

The law allowing concealed carry on campuses in Texas goes into affect on the 50th anniversary of that shooting. The exact day.

What the hell is WRONG with those idiots? I swear to God, somebody put a mind-eating substance into all the water in Texas. Stay away from there people, lest you turn into an open carry flesh-eating zombie.

A mock mass shooting would seem to be an ideal target for a Daesh mass shooting – open carry means no need to conceal weapons, the targets would not try too hard to dodge what they think are fake bullets, and the play acting would delay the authorities in recognizing that an actual attack was underway. Smart move guys.

They’ll do the mock mass shooting protest anyway, since when did anything that was pro-gun have to obey anyone?

The university said it was in the process of contacting the group to explain the matter, which it said could turn into a criminal trespassing complaint if the group shows up and does not leave when asked to do so.

Just shoot the fuckers. They’ll appreciate it.

…but unmock weapons are okely-dokely…

I suspect they’re all too young to actually recall the horror and terror of that time. The whole nation was riveted to the reports on this guy as he continued to shoot people. Not only was it terrifying but it was at that time an almost unheard-of kind of event, so there was no numbing effect from a succession of previous mass murders. In those days snipers were strictly overseas wartime enemies.

People still don’t understand the right to PEACEABLY assemble. No disruption and within the law. OWS people got busted for blocking a bridge, and these people should get busted if they try this.

And another thing many people still don’t get is CIVIL disobedience. You want to break the law to draw attention to yourself, fine. But when you get arrested, you quietly get cuffed and make sure it is on camera. If you start whining and complaining about how you should not be arrested, that’s called UNCIVIL disobedience, and hurts your cause. Act like an adult if you want respect.

I watched it on live TV. Every gun-humping idiot in Texas went over with their rifles and took pot shots at that building. Hundreds of rounds. They were penetrate homes downrange, so the cops that ended up killing the creep went ahead on their own, because they wanted the yay-hoo shooting to stop.

no, it’s not in the water. It’s being transmitted through the radio and TV airwaves. And not just in Texas, either.

Some of these pro-gun folks seem to be somewhat inconsistent;

“Trespassing, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”
