Discussion: USPS Apologizes To Dem Candidate For Releasing Security Clearance Application

Wouldn’t that be considered mail fraud? Fire all the Republicans on the House postal service committee and indict them for a felony.

No surprise here because, of course, if it wasn’t ‘human error’ that led to the felonious release of her file it was conspiracy that led to it.

Now why would that matter?

If you can’t trust the Post Office…

We are continuing our review, but believe the issue began in June of 2018, and that only a small number of additional requests for information from personnel files were improperly processed

Wait…so there were more?? This is not anywhere close to good enough. We need a thorough investigation and heads to roll…in either order.

Will they at least provide her with credit monitoring since they leaked the whole thing with complete Social Security number, date of birth and full name?

I’m sure they’ll get right on that after they close the barn door and go find the horses.

So we’re all good here, right? We apologized!

Hmmm, sounds like a reliable investigation is in order. Perchance were all the lapses of information about Democrats, and sent to Republican affiliated entities?

This matter requires a thorough Congressional investigation.

It’s a sad day when the USPS thinks it’s OK to lie through their teeth to the American people. I’d be more than willing to bet all I have this was done by a wing nut that had access to the file due to position and took action. There was no error other than in thinking they could do it with impunity. But how does all that ‘sorry bout that’ boilerplate undo this? The damage is done. If no price is paid it will happen again. There’s a wing nut FOIA officer in the USPS that needs to be on the street.

How did “human error” cause a classified document to be released publicly? It’s not as though those files are in a place where they could easily be confused with documents that should be publicly available, are they?

Usually, when “human error” is the excuse, I think of simple clerical errors or misunderstandings. I’m having trouble seeing how this “mistake” falls under that category.

Okay, I apologize b/c this is way OT; however, I see no story on this. Yesterday, Chuck Schumer made a deal with McConnell to fast track 15 - 15! - Trump judicial appointees for no apparent reason …

Wow, I expected blanket denials for weeks. Somebody better get fucking fired.

Just for perspective: a reminder of how the Gore campaign handled Unintentionally receiving Bush’s debate notes.

We are continuing our review, but believe the issue began in June of 2018, and that only a small number of additional requests for information from personnel files were improperly processed. Luckily they were exclusively limited to persons running for public office on the Democrat ticket.

Hold up! The Postal Service?

Since when does the Post Office process FOIA requests?

I retired from the USPS the very second I could.
The reason was Postal Management.
We had a Post Office were a least 90% did more then we had to without being ask.
Postal management destroyed this.

It was just one of those things that happen except releasing that form is a thing that actually never, ever happens.
