Discussion: US Won't Renew Sanctions Waivers For Nations Importing Iranian Oil, Including Allies

This should go over just great!

I can see a time, in the not to distant future, when America announces something like this, and the world just shrugs and goes about it’s business.

We need to impose a naval blockade around Iceland. Just because we can. Starve them out, ruin their economy. You know, for shits and giggles.

The U.S., under Trump, violates the Iranian nuclear arms control pact it primarily negotiated, despite it working. We now seek to punish countries who continue to adhere to the accord, and are good for their word, and punish them for importing Iranian oil, which is lawful.

The U.S. is now an outlaw regime.

That time is overdue. IMHO, we lost all credibility November of 2016.

I wonder if this explains our sabre rattling with Venezuela?

It’s what Don the Con’s followers wanted. Most Americans don’t want the US to be an outlaw regime.

Russia, Netanyahu, and Saudi Arabia want the U.S. to engage in brinkmanship with Iran for different reasons. Russia wants the US to be divided from its allies and to sell more oil at higher prices. Saudi Arabia hates Iran, wants to punish it, and seeks to sell more oil. The Netanyahu regime in Israel wants the U.S. to do its dirty work and go to war with Iran.

Trump’s deplorable and stupid base in this country want to harm Iran because President Obama made peace with them. They don’t understand the global and economic implications of the U.S.’s slow march to war with Iran.

laying the groundwork for an attack on iran. dotard is desperate to take military action against anyone – Venezuela/iran are the two likeliest targets. he’s counting on this to guarantee him re-election; and if not re-elected, he’ll decree that due to a national emergency he will remain in office until further notice.

The USA

Do not trust anything we’ve ever said or agreed to or promised.

That goes for you, too, American citizens … especially those of you who depend on the government for anything at all - like clean air and water, uncontaminated food, access to affordable health care, a social safety net, education for your kids, etc., etc., etc.

Most Americans are obese, exercise averse, haven’t read a nonfiction book cover to cover in a decade or more, are a slave to either alcohol, nicotene or prescription or illicit drugs (or some combination of all). They do the minimum to get by on their jobs. They possess at least one trait among a list including racism, misogyny, xenophobia or homophobia. They’re in the main anti-intellectual and distrustful of experts, facts, academia and highly specialized professionals. “Dancing With The Stars” is sophisticated entertainment. McDonalds is haute cuisine. Basically they’re a dirty, disheveled, ignorant lot of proles and peasants largely indistinguishable from the feces covered Middle Ages rabble found packing cow turds in the pasture to dry and burn in the hearth back at the thatched hut. That’s the American electorate.

The Trump administration is committing another unforced error. Nobody outside the US will notice or care. All of these moves are having the unfortunate effect of demonstrating American weakness in the rest of the world.

I am not sure it hasn’t happened here.

Before the November elections, one of the Trumpistas defended his party on Facebook by pointing out that, “Now, our enemies cower in fear.” If that isn’t a picture of what Trump supporters want for foreign policy, then there isn’t a picture. We might not be a rogue nation yet, but we are getting there.

And so begins the end of American Empire. What are Trump, the Republican’ts, and the Neocons in the Democratic Party going to do when the rest of the world tells us to go fuck ourselves? We can barely handle invading and occupying the stone age country of Afghanistan, let alone invading and occupying the whole rest of the world simultaneously…

No, it’s not. The majority of voters did not vote for t rumpp.

U.S Presidential election laws deem the “majority” to comprise the votes a candidate receives from the Electoral College. Any other “majority” is ephemeral, a mirage, a measurement of voters meaning nothing.
