Discussion: US Student Detained In Israel For Alleged Boycott Support

Another government of pricks.

Another government afraid some one will pull aside the curtain and show the world that Sabra humus is not the only humus out there. For cryin’ out loud we here in the US will blow up, shoot, or destroy any companies’ products that FN tells us to.

The ministry says that during Alqasem’s involvement with Students for Justice in Palestine, the club advocated a boycott against Sabra hummus, an Israeli-owned brand of chickpea dip…

Shit. I have been boycotting Sabra hummus for about ten years because they moved their entire plant and operation from Queens to Virginia.

Another Senior moment. “Never mind…”

I’m slightly sympathetic towards Israel here, aside from the detention. If I’m a member of a “I hate Israel” group, then why should I be welcome there?

Oh look conservative political correctness, Israeli-style.

Two reactions to this:

  1. It’s one college kid, advocating non-violent protest to a handful of other college kids. Israel doesn’t have to roll out a red carpet, but how about just not giving a shit?

  2. It’s an “I hate some of the things Israel has been doing” club. To characterize them as an “I hate Israel” group is not much different from what Trumpp does regarding Democrats. There are many Israelis who object to the same policies that BDS does.

Tell me again that Israel isn’t an apartheid state.
