In fact, if this is just another exercise in “Ivanka’s the good one” image-building, she’ll involve all the people the right already doesn’t listen to, the way she lured Al Gore to Trump Tower during the transition. If she’s sincere (and smart), she’ll bring in those CEOs who incorporate the consensus forecasts into their plans, the generals who see climate change as our greatest security threat, and the contractors who can show him exactly how much of Mar-a-Lago and his many golf resorts will be lost to flooding and soil erosion, and how soon. I’m praying, against all earthly evidence, that she’s sincere.
