Discussion: US: North Korea 'Quickly Closing Off' Diplomatic Window

I really, really miss this man…

They have no damn idea what to do. On the other hand, neither do I. On the gripping hand, it’s not my job.

Thus far, both China and North Korea have proven to be impervious to Trump’s tough talk and threatening tweets.

Bet you never dreamed you’d be reading that sentence nine months ago.

And now Comrade Cockholster is at an extreme disadvantage because Lil’ Kim knows all his secrets.

The pathetic jackass in the Oval Office may yet succeed in talking the world into a war. (G-d Forbid)
All because he’s too damnably stupid to allow diplomacy to take its time. The only “window” that might be “closing” is the one between diplomacy and something unthinkable.

And where is he, then? What has he said? What has he DONE?
If a war starts, all of these “vacation photos” won’t mean jack.
He’s a former President. Maybe it’s time someone told him that his “Vacation” is over.

What “vacation”? He’s an EX-President succeeded by an orange buffoon trying to undo everything he did.

Do you really expect Mr. Obama to send his resume to the White House.

Unlike Donnie, Mr. Obama and Bush 43 at least had mutual respect for each other, and Bush stayed out of the way. Mr. Obama is simply doing the same, with even more justification.

I sense your frustration, but don’t for a second try to lay any blame at the doorstep of Mr. Obama…

Ah War, every Republican dreams of it.

And that’s about as close as they care to get to one.

I’m sure a war with North Korea will be a slam dunk, just a slam dunk.

Maybe that’s why Rodman is over there, to explain Basketball slang to Kim?

Jeebus, what a world the Republicans want to create for the rest of us. And them in their armored fortresses complete with bomb shelters and unlimited air and water and food.

Really plays his cards close to the vest, doesn’t he?

His fearlessness was what made him such a force at the New York Military Academy

“… perhaps the most pressing threat facing a new U.S. president with little national security experience.”

Nice understatement on the last part.

This is deadly serious stuff. Even the most skilled statesman would be hard pressed to forge a winning strategy here. With trump at the helm I feel dread. Like I am watching a very drunk man twiddling with a loaded pistol.

Much ado over the same crap that has been going on for years. Here is a thought, why doesn’t the US honor its deal with NK and open up to trade? There has to be something there we can exploit. Geesh, we always seem to want to have boogeymen man so we can fund something to blow stuff up with. Seriously, put Dennis Rodman as ambassador and get some trade stuff going. Cheaper and safer than war. Oh, and someone please put a sock in Nikki Haley’s mug and give her some sunglasses. Looking and listening to her whine is killing me.

What’s her name again?

'…the Trump administration launched a government-wide effort to identify options for confronting Pyongyang…

***I think our options are limited.***

Byt, the US under Donnie and Rex fired all the senior diplomats in S. Korea and they still haven’t named a new Ambassador.

If there is no diplomacy it’s probably because Donnie isn’t doing his job.

Because yellow peril Commies.

Kim Jong-un isn’t very bright. All he need do is enter into a few joint ventures with the Trump Organization LLC for construction and management of some hotel golf resorts. Soon he’d see North Korea’s respect and stature surpass nations like Germany, France, California and New York in the eyes of The Donald.

The idea that “the window is closing” is ridiculous. It’s never been open. The United States has no hook with North Korea, and it has no relevant allies to help it. Russia and China are delighted to watch Trump fume impotently and they’re certainly not going to help disarm NK in any way. Why should they? They rely on the premise of mutually assured destruction to deter any actual aggression from NK, and now the US is going to have to do the same. As for China putting… “a heavy move” on NK… what a fantasy. NK’s missles literally have Chinese guidance systems!
