No one with a soul, a heart, and a reputation wants to work for the President Gaslight McTraitorTot III

If the Trump administration had been at all competent and they hadn’t gutted the state department and demoralized every professional in demanding jobs, this wouldn’t be worrisome. That’s the whole point of maintaining a high caliber, professional team that isn’t cut to the bone.

Continuing tensions. A glimmer of diplomatic possibility. An overture from North Korea for talks.

This is a job for Ivanka Trump, building on her unrivaled experience as the leader of the U.S. delegation at the Winter Olympics closing ceremonies in Pyeongchang.

No envoy, no ambassador, corporate executive head of a gutted State Department. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Name Ivanka as Special Envoy. She is not as hot as Kim’s sis, but she has more brand power.

This is the sort of thing that happens as you drift into a war.

That’s the ticket! Here’s where America can discover if North Korea is as good at forging Security Clearances as they are at forging American money.
Both are just fine with the current White House, I’m sure.

45 is a “Traitor Tot”? Perfect fit!! Bland, white, can be made to go with anything.

This timing of this is such a bad sign.

From what I’ve seen, Yun was the key competent person in this situation.

Was he being asked to provide a “window dressing” of diplomacy before the admin pulls whatever “limited attack” they keep hinting at?

That seems like a really frightening possibility.

I used to worry more than Trump would decide to start a war. Anymore, I worry more that he won’t have decided to start it.

That Jared is quite a guy! As his portfolio expands his mission will soon be “Peace on Earth”.

No problem, I-yanka (whatever) can take over the role, based her extensive experience watching the Olympic Games closing. Sad.

I’m kind of wondering if Mr. Yun’s “retirement” has to do with Crime Family Barbie being sent to make nice-nice with the North Koreans at the end of the Olympics.

There is a tiny, tiny possibility, given the moves toward conversations between the two koreas, that this is actually a not-completely-bad sign. A career foreign service officer like that might be stepping down only because he doesn’t think that his retirement will immediately imperil world peace.

There’s a lot of quiet outrage about how he simply hasn’t engaged the NSA or any other entity to counter Russian election interference. What could be more telling? There’s just no doubt to give him the benefit of.

Thanks for putting that out there. I’m always hoping that at least some of what I’m not seeing is for the good.
