Dubya basically created ISIS in Iraq due to his immense stupidity and irresponsibility, not to mention War Crimes. Obama only funds and arms ISIS now, only, and has allied with them in Syria (and elsewhere by now, wherever it suits his purposes - an ally is an ally, right?).

I’m totally on board with the cutting of a bloated military budget. However, in this case, there would be one sure way for us not to use drones to kill members of ISIS. If they threw in the towel and started acting like something other than sociopaths on a bender.

The decision to dismember the Iraqi army is the genesis. Rumsfeld thought that the general officers would just retire and buy a pretty goat ranch in the country side or maybe open nice falafel stand somewhere.

But of course they did!

Yes. The Sunnis mainly composed the Iraqi army. The Bush-Cheney decision to stop paying them, cut them out of the army, and ban them from the Shiite power structure created the vacuum that sucked them into a budding ISIS. That and the fact that American troops were on Islamic soil to begin with for only bad reasons that elevated Iran’s standing and created the conditions for the perfect storm of ISIS.

There was also a CNN story the other day that said the US-led coalition killed ISIS’s “oil minister,” who ran their illicit oil operations, and a few of his aids.

We also apparently took out a bunch of oil trucks that were clustered together there.
