Hey, it’s been fun, TPM’ers. Donnie will be the death of us all.

Heading for the backyard bunker.

Mic drop, Maximus.

Donnie has been waiting for a chance to play with his new toys!!!

That’s the only reason I can come up with for this move, as he’s not cared one bit about people dying in Syria before this - whether from chemical attacks or not.

The surprise strike marked a striking

Surprise? No way, donnie said earlier that there’d be a response. Now I’ve read that Syria was able to pack up and move their military base before the missiles hit, all because donnie telegraphed the move! I thought he understood the value of keeping military plans secret - he said he would have won Mosul in a few days due to his keen secrecy instincts. What a dissapointment he’s turning out to be.

If Trump and Mattis take us into Syria, seriously take us into Syria, we’ll never get out.

And this rush to action…I know America loves this kind of display of muscle, but I think they should have waited for all the Intelligence to come in. Turkey is hardly a reliable narrator.
But the president appeared moved by the photos of children killed in the chemical attack, calling it a “disgrace to humanity” that crossed “a lot of lines.”
Yeah? Well he sure doesn’t give a fuck about helping Syrian refugee children much like them get somewhere where they wouldn’t have to worry about becoming the next victims of that sort of attack.

This could be good, could be bad, but it’s a deflection. Our feckless Secretary of State said less than a week ago Assad’s fate was up to the Syrian people. These guys have no compass at all. That’s what should be of concern.

All he needed was an excuse. I don’t understand why this isn’t a clear violation of the War Powers Act.

Not to mention a little bombing is always good for poll numbers is the US of A.

The ultimate distraction.

" Trump’s actions in Syria could signal to China that the new president isn’t afraid of unilateral military steps. even if key nations like China are standing in the way."

buried lede? maybe not, but it seems important. If NK backs off, Trump will be hailed as a military genius. Putin doesn’t give a fuck about Syria so he probably suggested it.

Totally, ironically right now, my Amazon Prime Radio Station is Playing “Don’t Fear The Reaper”.

Fuck that, I’m “feared” of what distraction / deflection Donnie has in mind next…

Time to sell my Samsung / Hyundai stock, I guess…

Bye bye, South Korea…

I watching this shit and thinking yes the gas attack is bad but what the fuck do they think has been going on for the last 7 or 8 years.
Portions of Syria have been bombed to dust and 100000 civilians have been killed , hospitals and schools bombed and now they’re all outraged
Different methods same result
Makes no sense

I’ve been afraid of this for weeks. The ultimate distraction. This asshole will do ANYTHING to save his own ass. This will not end well.

I don’t know if this is true, but it did cross my mind that he somehow signaled it was fine. Putin is a lot of things, but he’s not stupid and I can’t even imagine he sanctioned the chemical weapons attack. I think Assad screwed up and is probably screwed. Even Putin isn’t going to publicly support a dictator that gassed children.

Yes, Trump needed a win so he blew up.

I suspect most Americans will support Trump in this. The Syrians were pretty stupid to use Saran gas against their own.

You know Putin is smiling

If they did. The intelligence isn’t in yet, just Erdogan’s word. No comment on that. He’s been supplying the rebels with gas to use against the Kurds.
