Discussion for article #242616
And the whine fest begins.
Sorry, Carson, but you lied and got caught. Time to stop being a toddler and be an adult.
He has been selling his story for so long he believes it. Typical scam artist.
Of all the examples of confirmation bias that permeate the right wing mindset, the unshakable belief that Obama sailed through the 2008 nomination process with absolutely no examination of his past or scrutiny of the stories in his biography or his second book . . . um, is one.
He is a nuttier than a fruitcake!
The GOP frontrunner pointed to the passage of time to explain why he couldn’t recall who had offered him the scholarship.
So he wrote an autobiography based upon a faulty memory? Then he blames the liberal media? Just laughable!
WTF kind of relevance has Pres Obama in this ?
the logic of "You didn’t vet him so, you should not vet me " is positively twisted, not surprising giving its origin.
You ask Trump about vetting Pres. Obama, Carson, his crack team of investigators vetted Pres. Obama ( we are still waiting for the results…)
Ben Carson is also the greatest demonstration of GOP hypocrisy out there. Take Brian Williams. Whether you like him or not, the “lies” he was caught up in occurred over time, and were likely due to changes in personal perception, as happens with memory. While Williams ended up causing deceit, Carson appears to have set out to deliberately deceive and embellish his own history and the GOP is not going to do something about it right away and are likely going to try to defend him.
Yes, it is. It’s just like the claims that the media is softballing the Dems during their debates.
He blames the liberal media but I would bet $$$ that all the leaks and attacks are coming from establishment Repubs, corporate $$ and oppo researchers like Roger Stone.
Carson appears to have the intellect and maturity of a dim 12 year-old, please make him go away…
Liar liar, pants on fire!
Poor guy finishes two weeks of pushing his book on a book tour gets slammed for the detailed account he wrote about in two of his books and has stated many times in interviews like this one.
Ben Carson: “I was offered a full scholarship to West Point” (Oct 9, 2015) | Charlie Rose
Damn it Jim, I’m a liar, not a doctor.
Meanwhile, in other news: ‘Why do some people think the pyramids were grain stores?’ http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-34741010
Shorter Carson : Hey, I’m trying to grift here, cut me some slack.
What’s also noteworthy here, aside from Carson’s personal narratives being scrutinized is a picture of him with his eyes wide open but his mouth closed. We typically see photos of his mouth being open and eyes droopy.
Imagine this…Carson with mouth and eyes both wide open at the same moment in time!
Only a Republican could have the gall to blame someone for questioning the authenticity of said Republican’s own written/spoken narratives.
I wonder how long before he decides all of this isn’t worth it anymore and he drops out, claims the “liberal media” forced him to drop out, and he really rakes it in playing the victim card.
He’s starting to lose it, isn’t he?
“Next week, someone will claim a teacher said I peed in my pants…”
Uh, where’s that coming from?
Drip, drip, drip.
Carson appeared unusually agitated during the press conference
Ever caught a kid in a lie? They act exactly the same.
this is complete BS… I still remember the teachers from high school offering to write letters to the draft board for me to support a any claim I might want to make about being a Conscientious Objector… I also remember offers of help to go to Canada…
I remember filling out my application for Cal… all of this was about 50 years ago…
to claim he ‘can’t’ remember or the details are foggy is just BS…
he was a brain surgeon… he had to have a better memory than he’s claiming to get thru med school and practice his specialty…
Pretty ironic his trotting out that stupid canard about Obama, who was and is a tough, resilient person who knew pretty well what he was in for. This guy is a hothouse flower who’s having a very difficult time surviving outside the fundie-wingnut speaking circuit. He requires the most delicate handling—you can’t question a single point or probe beneath the surface anywhere. His opinions sound ridiculous to the average person and call his sanity into question, but question them and you’re attacking Christianity or you’re a liberal journalist or whatever. Obama, on the other hand, survived an absolutely brutal onslaught before his first election and the attacks never once subsided, and he’s navigated them with grace, humor, and unbelievable strength. But in this loony’s world it was Obama who had the easier time. You feel sorry for him for a moment and then he whines like a peevish child again and the moment passes.
