Discussion for article #234254
Adios, UnivsionâŠHola MundoFox!
Iâm so tired of seeing this gracious, beautiful woman trashed by odd nobodies.
I was talking with my best friend and his girlfriend (who is African American) and I remarked that the only difference between Latinos and African Americans is that the European component of their ancestry tends to be from the British Isles wheras ours is Iberian. The rest (West African and Native American) is the same, in varying amounts. [And for those who would deny the African part for Mexicans, they should Read âLa Poblacion Negra de Mexico,â by Gonzalo Aguirre Beltran].
The girlfriend then replied, âHow I wish that both groups could get along better.â
Univision:
Thanks for hiring this guy (evidently without much of an aptitude test). Your firing him is, qualitatively, the same as a clever attorney slandering someone in court, while the judge says, âDisregard that last partâ
MeaningâŠon deaf ears.
Youâre helping us all out big time.
I effing give up.
Excellent choice for host of new Fox News program: âFox and Racist Friendsâ
Iâm sure he was merely suggesting that she reminds him of Charlton Heston. Theyâre both tall, you knowâŠ
3, 2, 1⊠Counting down how long it will take until heâs announced as a host on FoxNews. He will fit in perfectly.
I really really feel sorry for who ever becomes the First Lady (or Man) next.
Move over Fox-y fiends, make room on your couch for this pendejo!.
GET OFF MY TELEVISION YOU DAMN DIRTY TALK SHOW HOST!
descriptive? wha?
This âHostâ was saying this to people he was expecting to applaud/laugh/approve.
Latino racism is as deep and older than the U.S. (because our countries started out as colonies centuries earlier). The ways it is expressed are both better and worse (not going to get into that, today).
However, anyone believing that just hanging a âminorityâ label on both African American and Latino groups makes them somehow âbrothersâ is making a serious miscalculation.
There are Cubans, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans who are at least as haughty of their (Spanish) bloodlines as the most arrogant W.A.S.P. In addition New Mexico has Hispanos who were there before the U.S. Revolution. And donât get me started about the South Americans. Finally, the idea of âLatinoâ slides very smoothly into the âimmigration-storyâ, where whiteness will eventually come, this or the next generation (without the burden of the One Drop Rule which Southerners are keen on).
And these are the people this (I cannot call him what I want to call him) individual is animating.
Some very smart and dedicated people are going to have to make better inroads between the Latino and African American groups.
The good news is this:
By the time the last white-washed Latino like Figueroa arrives at the status of âwhitenessâ, there will be so many people of African descent for which this will cease to be an issue, that the original âgoalâ would have been worthless.
Qué asco este tipo inmundo.
Claro que si.
Really? In 2015? On TV?
Good for them. Nice to see some network management that acts without trying to weasel their way out of a bad situation by giving this guy a slap on the hand.
I would have expected more sensitivity from a guy who looks like an organ grinderâs monkey.
Ladies and gentlemen, your new host for the 3 pm hour on Fox NewsâŠ
I donât watch that show. When I saw the story, I thought I was going to be seeing somebody who looked as European-Spanish-looking as Pau Gasol.
Instead, I saw someone whom a committed racist would have likened to OBAMAâs sibling.
Why? He/she wonât be black, so no comparisons to apes, monkeys, medicine-men, cave-dwellers, etc. It is true that the GOP will find ways to ridicule anyone based on looks (ironic, considering Limbaugh, McConnell, and myriad others of their ilk) â remember the heartless jokes about Chelsea? But regardless, because they will be white, the ridicule will be on a different level.
But yeah, youâre right. Itâs going to be tough for all of us. I still canât believe that SOB âartistâ included the âblue dressâ in Clintonâs portrait. G
