6,000 ? Seems she is kinda dumb…
Of course, no one could identify the woman, nor was there any security camera footage found,
just the mysteriously male moniker, John Barron-Miller.
My my my - well, isn’t that awfully convenient?
Was hunting around for Carvey’s The Church Lady’s “Isn’t that special” and found this instead. Seems as timely as ever
snif snif Man, did somebody just walk with a bunch of purchases from the fish market?
Right? I mean, come on - these are budding Republicans and the best they could come up with is a nameless, faceless woman who isn’t a student, who has now left town, and nobody - but nobody - knows how or why she was at the event? Did anyone think to ask her what she was dropping into the gift bags? Because that distribution volume didn’t happen in a few minutes…
Not gonna get far with that kind of slacker attitude!
She’s mixing her messages- Fundies believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old (young earth creationists); it must be stuck in her head somewhere.
Everyone knows that this woman left Michigan this week because she got a new job in Washington. Look! I found a photo of her!
Fun trivia fact about the Trump Cabinet: Did you know that the conservative Hollanders (inc. the DeVos and France families) who settled Holland, Mich., had to flee the Netherlands because revolted against Dutch authorities in the 1800s because the government had extended rights to Jews?
The school’s letter said, “To those of Jewish descent.” As a Jew, that tells me that the people who wrote it don’t know many Jews. Or perhaps any. Or at least that they are not comfortable with Jews. (I can understand that; there are many Jews I’m not comfortable with.) Now, this could be an accident of geography–that there aren’t that many Jews in central Michigan. But given what happened, and where, I have to wonder.
”To those of Jewish descent, rest assured that we stand with you and vow to continue the effort to educate others."
Oh, sure, twist history to somehow make the Shoah about the Jews!
NB: /snark
That’s pretty revolting.
(My motto: Never let the easy ones go by.)
But …but… we don’t need to have eyes on these people ! —
Nice try but the Michigan College Republicans who consented to disseminate this revolting insult to common decency still need to be held accountable. They knew what they were doing. Having a known anti-Semite serving as chief strategist to the president clearly made them feel entitled to flaunt their toxic bigotry. We’re left with no alternative but to conclude that this is how Republicans act when they feel safe and comfortable among their own kind.
I’m guessing “Courtney” and her goodies are going to re-appear at CMU again Easter and Halloween, and then magically disappear again, back to her CMU sorority.
These Young Republicans actually are quick studies. If they lie often and brazenly enough, they too might become president some day.
Exactly. They were the ones handing it out. C’mon. Like they did not know what they were handing out was?! You are only Young Republicans. You do not earn the right to blatantly bullshit the public until you are your party’s nominee for prez.
Again, you’re not talking about the brightest bulbs in the chandelier here. They’re junior Republicans…
These type of incidents are getting too frequent. Before Trump was elected, I had never heard of anti-Semitic incidents at college campuses in Minnesota. Yesterday there was this one:
Nazi graffiti in University of Minnesota dorm draws outrage
In a Thursday statement, the university’s Bias Response and Referral Network (BRRN) wrote that the school has reached out to Shaver and his family and offered its support.
“While it was not an isolated incident — the BRRN has received a total of seven reports involving swastikas, neo-Nazi propaganda, and other anti-Semitic graffiti since the beginning of December — this case was particularly disturbing as it was seemingly directed towards a specific person,” the statement read.
Seven incidents since the beginning of December? At one Minnesota University? WTF
I think it’s a plant. No one – not even the college repubs – is stupid enough to actually distribute something like that. So some well-meaning pseudo progressive prints up a bunch in a hurry, forgets the last set of zeros and mixes it in with a bunch of stuff the idiot college repubs are putting out. Then it shows up, people on the left launch into righteous indignation, people on the right get defensive and … we’re exactly where we were.
It’s an unfortunate attempt to demonize the other side, and it takes away from the real battle. It doesn’t help Dem causes if we continue to paint everyone with an R next to their name as a monster. We have to find a way to appeal to those who have historically disagreed with us – and stop insulting everyone who thinks differently – if we’re going to move the country in a safer direction. Likening them to Hitler doesn’t help. Never has.
