Discussion: United Airlines Suspends Pilot For Saying Hillary Clinton Should Be Executed

"He said his tweet was “clearly” not meant as an actual death threat against the Democratic presidential candidate. "

He meant “hanged by the neck until dead” in the soft, cuddly way.

FOX: Hillary is not even POTUS yet and job losses of real amerikans have already started.
Trump: She will rival Dubya in terms of job creation.

As someone who worked for United Airlines for a long time I can tell you the pilots were mostly right wing guys whose backgrounds were in the military, and I heard so much weird stuff including conspiracy theories I realized it was best to not talk to them about much of anything esp. politics.

@scottsa He thought once he said it was simply “hyperbole” and nothing more he’d be okay.

@brooklyndweller trump has absolutely opened the gates of the asylum and all the inmates are running loose spouting hatred. There are no restraints because he has none.

Words have consequences. These asswipes have been throwing gas on the fire with abandon for the last 7.5 years.

It was my understanding that both wings are required to fly.

Okay, that was pretty weak. I have all week to improve though!

When even the comments on Yahoo! are against you, you know you did something really, really bad.

As former military guys they used a wing and a prayer. Yeah, it’s too early for brilliant.

In many of the countries Trump likes, such talk would lead to prison, or worse.

“…clearly” not meant as an actual death threat…"

Airline Lives Matter.

Noted that United suspended but didn’t fire.

Pitiful when arrogance causes someone to stray in such an obvious way out of their area of core competence.

There needs to be a special seminar at the Republican convention for RMS - Republican Misspeaking Syndrome. It seems to be a very widespread, worsening phenomenon.

Probably suspended with pay.

The West Virginia Democratic Party urged Folk to resign from the House of Delegates over his remarks, according to Bloomberg Politics.

Resign from the Republican delegation? He was only trying to comply with their list of job requirements!

He said his tweet was “clearly” not meant as an actual death threat against the Democratic presidential candidate.

I never took it as a death threat. I took it as a wish for a GOP-dominated police state where people can be executed for any reason the State deems appropriate.

Ironic that (according to Bloomberg), “This year, Folk was the lead sponsor of a bill to add the likelihood of imminent violent lawlessness to the crime of intimidation and retaliation in West Virginia.”

Well, in all fairness, United could’ve just let Republicans fly on the airplane he was piloting, and had folks show them their papers please by first identifying their party registration before boarding. Sort of like a “Papers Please” for Hispanics, immigrants and Muslims like Republicans insist on having everyone else comply with that rubs them the wrong way. Gotta single out the ‘lesser-thans’ after all…

Can’t believe it took them like what…a week before grounding this guy?

Yeah, because everyone knows it’s only a “real” threat when you use the CORRECT FORM OF THE WORD “HANGED.” Jesus fuck…get it right!

“Not only are Delegate Folk’s words concerning, they are disturbing,” Belinda Biafore, the West Virginia Democratic Party chair, said in a statement Saturday.

Wow, those are really harsh words. Folk’s lucky the West VA Dems aren’t seriously miffed. Or chafed even.

Ya gotta hand it to Democrats—when they lay the verbal lumber on you, it even sometimes occasionally raises a small bump. Maybe even a scratch if they’re really serious.

Where’s that worthless fuck Joe Manchin?

United shouldn’t fire him, they should demote him to baggage handler. He needs to learn to handle his baggage better.

This is perfectly appropriate. If I knew I was on a flight that was to be piloted by someone this unhinged, I would insist on a change of reservation with no fee.
