“If an employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately."

“I ask myself, is it possible that this señor thinks we have papers? He knows we don’t speak English,” she said separately. “Why wouldn’t he figure it out?”

Well, ma’am, many people are saying el Presidente ain’t so big on “figuring stuff out”.

The Democratic House should launch an investigation into Melania’s falsified citizenship papers. She’s here illegally and committed crimes regarding her “work” visa.

“We are tired of the abuse, the insults, the way he talks about us when he knows that we are here helping him make money,” Victorina Morales told the Times. “We sweat it out to attend to his every need and have to put up with his humiliation.”

No, actually, he doesn’t know that any money he makes is made off of your sweat and labor. He couldn’t care less because he really does think that the undocumented are animals similar to livestock.

Ms. Morales expects she will have to leave her job as soon as her name and work status are made public. She understands she could be deported. But she also says she is certain that her employers — perhaps even Mr. Trump — knew of her unlawful status all along.

“I ask myself, is it possible that this señor thinks we have papers? He knows we don’t speak English,” Ms. Morales said. “Why wouldn’t he figure it out?”

“Why wouldn’t he figure it out?" Discuss.

While she is standing up and stating her case, there is the subtext that any undocumented worker can be abused in many different forms, with the employer holding the expectation of no resistance from fear. The employer’s know this and it is one more major reason they hire them. They can get away with unsafe and unethical practices with minimal fear of being reported or facing consequences. They may pay a buck for these people, but it is next to slavery at times.

Hey, look on the bright side: Global warming’s gonna kill us all before you need that 401(k) 201(k) anyway!

(You’re welcome.)

This is the height of hypocrisy as far as I’m concerned. You know they probably hire lots of people without papers and the chief idiot is determined to block everyone trying to come into this country. His bloody properties should be fined up the hilt for this.
Edit. I don’t care if people don’t have papers. It’s tRump’s enterprises that don’t follow the law.

What kind of pay and benefits do employees at Trump properties receive? Does he pay minimum wage (at least!), offer paid vacations, paid sick leave, health and life insurance, etc.? I really want to know.

Let’s prioritize: Investigations of Russia-linked cronies, concurrent with investigations of moron himself, then the investigations of current Cabinet members and then investigations of the immigrant wife. Or we can just demand she hold the press conference that was promised when he was first elected where she would explain her immigration status.

It s not clear that it will take that long to throw the Dotard to the curb…

That’s a tall order of priorities.

At the rate international relations are deteriorating, I think Dow 14~18k is more likely, along with a full-on recession. Look at a historical trend line for the Dow since 2008. It plummeted to 7k in the year post-GWB, from Feb 2009, it started an historic recovery from that point as Obama’s recovery package kicked in, nearly tripling in value by the time Obama left office 7 years later. That can be ascribed in great part to his recovery policies (with a loud and snarky FU to Mitch McConnell for obstructing everything across the entire 7 years).

The gains during the first years of Trump are a continuation of that trend line. Now, as we come to the halfway point of Trump’s presidency*, we are seeing the real effects of Trump’s policies and “leadership”. His tariff-driven trade wars, his anti-EU/NATO policies, his indefatigable assault on the truth, our alliances, our principled norms…

A crash is coming and it isn’t going to be pretty. I predict it could be worse than Dubya’s Debacle. Great Depression 2…? But for now, I’ll settle on my 14k~18k prediction and hope it doesn’t get worse than that…
