Hmmmmm…announcing the amount of money you raised in front of an audience, including the press during your fundraiser =/= “private” and not wanting “credit.”

It might be my own wishful thinking, but Donald Trump seemed rather close to losing it at this event. Had the members of the press been more focused in their questions, he might have had a real meltdown. (Although, what would the Republican party do should such a thing actually happen?)
But since his initial claim, it’s been unclear just how much Trump raised, how much he personally donated to veterans groups, and which groups received donations as a result of the fundraiser. Trump on Tuesday characterized the number as “almost $6 million.”
Though the charities have to be vetted, the list is out.

I totally agree. He just looked unhinged which is really saying something considering that he never looks completely together.
It is way past time for the media to take this human stain down.
He’s not used to scrutiny or showing that what he says is actually true.

That quote is pathetic and scary at the same time. Scary, because you can tell exactly what he would want to do to the media if elected. Expect we’d get a Korean Central Television which does nothing but to scream Dear The Leader all day (after all Trump loves Kim Jong-un, so why not emulate…)

Yes…but back up even a bit more. He literally called this press conference to brag about how much money he supposedly raised and how he is being mistreated for it…while again dropping numbers that are totally unsubstantiated.
What I think is happening, is while Trump knows lots of con games, running the donation con is fairly new to him, and he is doing a terrible job of it. And as he gets frustrated with his inabilities being noticed (because he literally demands the press pay attention to them, never crosses his mind), he starts lashing out. Trump figured if Hannity can do it, so can he, and better, cause Hannity got caught. Ooops.
What we know to date is…no veterans organization is reporting receiving any of the money raised close to 6 months ago…that the amounts raised were inflated…that Trump didn’t himself donate any money until he got called on it…and its quite possible that he, or someone in his organization, has been skimming money off of this “fund raiser” the entire time.
Nothing he said today answers any of those questions, it merely draws more attention to all of them.

I’ve long believed that Mr. Trump doesn’t understand what running for president entails, and during this campaign, he is going to suffer the humiliation of a thousand cuts. The biggest is probably going to be losing to a woman. But right on the heels of that, the disclosure that he’s not worth anywhere near nine billion dollars. Or one billion, for that matter.
