From Pat Robertson to Jim DeMint to the Tea Party to Ted Cruz and The Club for Growth…the ability to milk the rubes is truly fascinating.
Richard Vigurie started with direct mail and today the industry hauls in millions that go to the fund raisers a LOT and the causes not so much. There are some among the slick who promise GOP candidates to raise funds for their campaigns.
They raise funds, but the campaigns are often lucky to get 10 cents on the dollar.
Reverend Ike and the magic prayer cloth, and all the radio and TV evangalists…even one pastor who told his flock they needed to contribute a million or so in order to replace the blades on his helicopter.
God loves you but you can really prove it by giving ME your money.

Don’t forget the greatest grifter of all: Karl Rove.
Forget the rubes, there like stealing candy from a baby. Rove convinced a dozen billionaires? to give him more than $300M last cycle and didn’t have a single win to show for it! Not one.
But Rove pocketed how many millions in ad buy commissions? $30M? $60M? No one knows the answer which is the most amazing thing of all.
When it comes to the grift, Karl Rove is the all time champ.

They have people from the TP Express in Mississippi. Listening to the radio. Watching some TV. So they are doing what their part.
Tea Party Express is in dire straights financially. They desperately need to pick up money this midterm, or they will be closing their doors early in 2015. So the support the give is going to be extremely “grass rootsy”…like, the type that they don’t have to pay for.

Rove supports Cochran, not McDaniel, and has pulled his group’s financial support from the race, indicating he’s confident Cochran cannot win.
Negative remarks about Tea Party indicate ignorance because its biggest cause is cutting oppressive government and federal spending. Who among you favors 17 Trillion debt, obamacare becoming as slow and deadly as the VA and the democrat economy which is impoverishing the middle class?

Grow a brain and learn about governance and the causes of the shrinkage of the middle class (hint: the idiots you support do not support you; they’re shoveling middle class dollars to the top .1% as fast as they can).

It’s stunning how self-appointed geniuses know better than climate scientists about climate change, know more about the Constitution than the Supreme Court, know more about health care policy than Kaiser, know better than the generals about how we should treat our POWs, know more than ob/gyns about human reproduction, know more than the families of gun victims about common-sense gun regulations… on and on and on… the breadth and depth of their self-imagined expertise is boundless…
They think the poor don’t pay taxes but ignore the fact that billionaires and corporations-who-are-people pay nowhere near them in proportion. Some even claim to support the troops by insisting we spend more than the next fifteen nations combined on a bloated military, yet military families can’t get medical attention, are living on food stamps, and vets are living under bridges and committing suicide in record numbers.
It’s easy to spot these fools. They’re the ones proclaiming that everyone else is ignorant.

If Christie O’Donnell is a model for a TeaParty campaign, you can be sure that someone is living high on the hog off the campaign funds raised instead of spending them on the race.
Just look at the “charities” the GOP candidates are always collecting funds for and the money always ends up being spent on the candidates families like with indicted Va Governor Bob McDonnell and his wife. I’m sure that’s the real reason Palin quit. She was constantly having to repay the state for using state funds for personal expenses.
The GOP has become so corrupt that they’re so proud of it that they flaunt it.
The middle class is getting fed up with the constantly rising sales tax burden on them. You buy a car today and it’s not the price of the auto but the sales tax you owe that gives you sticker shock. Same thing for a new appliance or even a trip to the grocery or discount store. The tax on a a frozen pizza is almost as much as the soda you buy to accompany it.
It’s time for the Democratic Party to campaign on tax inequality as well as income inequality. Whatever happened to the progressive income tax that the moderate GOP used to champion?
It’s time that all investment income is taxed in the same way as wages. An easy way to do this would be to collect a tax at the time of the transaction. One penny should be levied on each trade per stock per transaction. It would pay off the national debt in months.
Then the added continuing revenue could be used for infrastructure improvements, small business loans for startups and expansions as well as for more scientific and technology research. All these would increase jobs inside the US and promote fiscal solvency for our Treasury.
Just like the half-term governor and the pair of billionaire grifters who prop up their lame efforts, Teabagger leaders are in it for the grift.
