The International Atomic Energy Agency report stopped short of declaring outright that Iran is honoring its obligations, in keeping with its official role as an impartial monitor of the restrictions the treaty placed on Tehran’s nuclear programs.
I don’t claim to possess any kind of expertise regarding international relations and diplomacy, but it escapes me how, if Iran is indeed “honoring its obligations,” it would compromise the Agency’s “role as an impartial monitor” to declare as much.
If I were these other nations who joined Obama in creating this agreement with Iran, I’d make it clear to Trump that he can pull out if he wishes, but that they will stand by the agreement and with Iran should Trump attempt aggression, so long as Iran is in full compliance. Isolate his ass even more.
That’s pretty much what they’ve done: said that renegotiating the agreement is off the table.
By what basis is Trump making that assessment, more importantly, what genius is telling him this? I mean, after all, Trump has absolutely no foundation for making such a claim based on his own knowledge and experience in the matter. I don’t think there were many presentations on nuclear weapons or complicated chemistry/physics when he was doing his stupid teevee show, was there? So who is giving him this contraindicated information? Bannon? Miller? Rick Perry?
