I don’t read it that way. They’re not Chechyans - they’re Russians who have been fighting the Chechnyan separatists.
So that means it’s okay for us to support Kiev moving militarily against its own citizens in the East? By that kind of reasoning, Assad has the right to kill as many of his “terrorists” as he wants since we support them.
It’s believed these are Chechens loyal to Ramzan Kadyrov, who is on Putin’s payroll. They were bussed in from Chechnya.
