The problem with some politicians is that they don’t stay bribed.

Uber really, really loves sucking that Gov. Doug Ducey Dick! This guy is almost as blatant as Trump.

That’s excellent.

“It marked the first death involving a fully autonomous vehicle, raising questions about the safety of computer-controlled cars being built by Uber and dozens of other companies…”

I, for one, welcome our new autonomous vehicle overlords!

And I’d like to remind them that, as a trusted TPM poster, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground Fetzer Valve caves.

Well, his statement wasn’t completely ridiculous, taken in isolation. By limiting the number of access points, in theory you make it a lot easier to control what people are bringing into the school. This gets complicated, of course, by the fact that you now have more people trying to get through that portal in the same time, so even if you do take advantage of the savings and security advantages by posting guards at the entrances, you’re just making a much large hassle and delay, which eats into school time.

And that’s without getting into the primary reason all of those entrances and exits exist: fire safety. The primary reason schools are built with such an open, accessible floor plan is so that no students are easily barred from getting to safety if there’s a crisis that requires evacuation. Which, clearly, Dan Patrick didn’t think of before shooting off his damned fool mouth. But taken in the context of creating an environment that can more effectively be secured, he’s not completely wrong.

He’s just an idiot.
