Awful. My heart goes out to his family. They’ve been holding prayer vigils for his safe return.

Respect the man by NOT watching the video.

Sympathies to his family and friends. This is a good example of why we should have never gotten involved in Oedipus Tex’s war of choice.

It takes a lot of courage and selflessness to put yourself into the chaos and turmoil of a sectarian war, purely for the benefit of reporting the reality for the rest of us. Its the kind of character his killers fear and lack themselves.
R.I.P. and deep thanks to Mr Foley, condolences to his family.

Every time you see something like that you lose something. I can’t quite articulate what it is, but it’s something worth preserving.

So horrible; so gut-wrenching. There are few braver than those who choose war correspondence as a vocation. We know what little we know about this conflict because of Mr. Foley and others like him.

I cannot imagine what kind of person is capable of this sort of horror…and that’s probably a good thing.I don’t want to know or understand what goes on in that sort of evil. These bastards want nothing more than for us to see this atrocity and be horrified by it.Don’t give them the satisfaction of watching. RIP Mr.Foley and condolences to your family, friends and coworkers. :frowning:

What you lose is a little bit of your sense of disgust and a bit of your ability to be outraged. Today, you recoil in horror. Next time, you just shrug.

Really time to draw the line on these ISIS monsters. No one on earth needs such creatures.

That’s why it’s so easy for these bastards to commit this slaughter.First time is hardests, after that they become numb to it.

What a tragedy.

I think TPM should have been a bit more sensitive with their choice of photos under that headline…

Because if history teaches us anything, it’s that committing atrocities against American citizens is an excellent way to get America to not to intervene in your conflict, you murderous ignorant fanatics.

My condolences to his friends and family.

We have War Colleges.
We have honest-to-God experts in tactics, strategy and achieving long term foreign policy objectives.
Howsabout we give them the ball instead of allowing neocon ideologues, superannuated Arizona Senators and various lobbies to call the tune?
Just fucking do it with the best and the brightest patriots we have.

Why would anyone want to watch it!!

We have plenty of ISIS type folks in this country -like it or not - brutal killers of children and animals.

We have people in this country guilty of such horrors. Don’t get me wrong, I am not condoning ISIS,but think about some of the brutal murders we have heard about happening right here in this country

To my way of thinking ISIS wants us to fear them. They are trying to show how powerful they are This only shows their depravity. They try to say they are Muslims. That their way is the right way. They could not be more wrong.

All right, there are people in the U.S. who are brutal murderers. I don’t understand what your underlying point is.

ISIS is using well established tactics, the ones that worked when they first invaded Iraq and caused the Iraqi soldiers to panic and flee, simple speed and ferocity of attack.

I learned long ago that when the neighborhood bully ran at me screaming his head off that it was much better to scream and run right at him. I just had to be careful not to slip on his excrement and fall down.

But this tactic has been used through out history in the Arab world and with great success.

And then there is this…
