Changing our gun culture will only happen through grass roots organizing like this. For different reasons neither party is capable or willing to take on the assault weapons issue or the NRA.
Why isn’t it getting more media attention that the GOP has completely outsourced to the NRA their response to mass shootings?
The POTUS says he will “talk to the NRA” about solutions and no one in media even raises an eyebrow? Who the fuk is the NRA? How about talking to Congress?
Why are they all not being called out on this?
Shoot them where it hurts—in the wallet.
The demonization of the NRA needs to be fully extended to their protectors, the GOP. They are one and the same: callous, evil threats to decency and democracy.
I thought the students’ making the acceptance of NRA donations a “Red Badge of Shame” was a great start in that direction.
Blackrock will be “engaging with weapons manufacturers and distributors to understand their response to recent events.”
Gee - it looks just like the last response to similar events.
(but - as Marco Rubio says - we wouldn’t want to make policy decisions until we have all the facts…)
How about talking to the American People, who the NRA does not represent even remotely?
@canyoncountry-Marco Rubio and the rest of the NRA owned GOP congress can only say this because the NRA paid for legislation to suppress valid scientific research on the issue of gun violence. We have the facts, they are a decades long epidemic of people killed by automatic weapons in the hands of people who by age or disturbed record should not have been able to obtain them. Totally enabled by the NRA and its disproportionate power and access to our elected officials.
Yea, keep the ball rolling until NRA stands for, Not Relevant Anymore
