I see no problem with this. The U.S. Atty is doing a fair and thorough job. His offices should have access to all the possible information out there.

The committee has made a very valuable contribution by putting the truth about Christie before New Jersey voters and the country at large. But it may be time to suspend the hearings and let the US Attorney complete his investigation.

This is too high profile. Even if they were once Christie loyalists, a US attorney who brings down Christie would be a hero to all. That’s how Christie got where he is today.

Not sure what this means from a legal perspective, and I hope the two investigations cooperate with each other. The goal is to get the truth, and the truth will set the citizens of N.J. free from the bully who would be king.

Sorry, but I’m not particularly inclined to pay my respects to Krispy’s lust for power. (And no, that’s not a typo. As they say, you are what you eat.) I’m with Elvis Costello… being more inclined to stand on the grave laughing and “tramp the dirt down”.

Well, for sure you don’t want the legislature doing anything that would hamper what the US Attorney’s office is doing, so certainly they should coordinate their activities with the federal prosecutors, but I don’t know that I want them to completely suspend their work. The US Attorney is going to be focused on potential criminal activity the can be prosecuted, but the legislative investigation should not be so narrow; they should be looking at things that are unethical or even just problematic, even if they stop short of being criminal.

This is obviously quite awkward, the US Attorney subpoenaing a legislative special investigation unit. They would obviously have asked first and been refused- thus the need for a subpoena. So what is really going on with all that?
