Discussion: U.S. Attorney Resignations To Include Bharara, Who Was Told He Would Stay

"The President-elect asked, presumably because he's a New Yorker and is aware of the great work that our office has done over the past seven years, asked to meet with me to discuss whether or not I'd be prepared to stay on as the United States attorney to do the work as we have done it, independently, without fear or favor for the last seven years," Bharara said on Nov. 30, after meeting with Trump in Trump Tower.
It always amazes me when smart, educated, accomplished professionals believe something Trump says.

I guess asking was better than doing it the fat little kim style.
Dogs and anti-aircraft fire.
Probably couldn’t see a way past the media on that one.

Bet you anything the whole mass firing was actually perpetrated as cover for firing Bharara who would have been the prosecutor involved in any investigations occurring in New York City. The tell will be if they replace him quickly with a Republican hack who passes their loyalty test and let the other offices languish.

Not necessarily unheard of for a president to do this, rather than just rolling them out and your own appointees in over a period of time the way it’s usually done. Bill Clinton fired all the U.S. Attorneys shortly after he became president, raising many eyebrows and ruffling many Villager feathers in the doing. And certainly, the calls for a “purge” by their Alt-Right TrumpJungen and cohorts would make it seem like a thing to do.

But, nah. I’m betting it was all about Bharara. And that investigation into that odd mail server in Trump Tower that only Alfa Bank and a DeVos-linked entity were hitting that anonymous Feds told CNN is still ongoing yesterday .

His first mistake - believing Trump.

His second - believing Sessy.

Trump brazenly violates contracts with people; it’s his MO. He lies, cheats, gropes and steals his way to his goals. This US attorney should have seen this shit storm coming a mile away. He should have cut a severance deal with BO and hit the road. Trump’s word is worthless, as is Sessions’. “Turds of a feather” and all that jazz.

No special reason to think he did believe them; publicizing their promises would make it tougher for them to burn him later.

It would surprise me if a career prosecutor known for pursuing corrupt public officials didn’t have a skeptical streak. And I doubt Bharara or any other halfway sophisticated resident of New York City has any illusions about what Donald Trump’s word is worth.

And yet, in our Bizarro World, it was to President Obama that someone actually shrieked, “You lie!”

He (Bharara) could always go to work for NY AG Eric Schneiderman, a Trump enemy.

Well, at least 46 graduates of Liberty Univ. Law will be able to quit their jobs as Walmart greeters. “Moovin’ on up!”

“And recently, prosecutors from his office questioned New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio about whether he traded favors for donations.”

Which means they’ll be appointing someone who is willing to just bring charges against DiBlasio.

And also how these same educated people play the stupid card when they’re cornered.

But they won’t qualify for Medicaid if they move uptown. No more lobsters, O’Phones and all the other perks.

I’d like to see everyone who took a government job during the Obama administration resign. Let’s see how quickly our new so-called President can build a functioning government.

“Sorry. The Grand Canyon is closed today. We haven’t yet hired any staff.”

Should be fun!

Many of the Trumpanzees are about to get screwed.

Particularly interesting are the numbers breakdown:

•Those who stand to lose more than $7,500 in subsidies went for Trump by 58-39.
•Those who stand to lose between $5,000 and $7,500 went for Trump by 60-35.
•Those who stand to lose between $2,500 and $5,000 went for Trump by 49-45.
•Those who stand to lose between $1,000 and $2,500 went for Trump by 46-46.

The last thing the Trump maladministration wants is independent, uncorruptable US Attorneys, especially in New York. I expect the model for Trump’s US Attorneys will be people like Ken Paxton and Pam Bondi.

It never matters what Drumpf says. If Bannon wants it, it gets done. This is another step on his Leninist track to take down the “administrative state.”

Take Paxton, Please!!!

the wife turns 65 in May. Coming off of Obamacare. She’s finally starting to exhale. A woman getting excited about and looking forward to turning 65. I’m the one tiptoeing around the house. Yes dear, no dear.
