I just said this in the post on Lynch’s stalled nomination. The GOP is coming clean once and for all. They’re no longer even trying to court Black and Latino voters. They don’t see a way to thread the needle between what they need to get elected nationally and what their base will allow them to get away with. Because the needle can’t be threaded. It just can’t.
The lie is finally over. They now run on a platform that appeals to White older voters, “ammosexuals” and repressed, venal young White men. Oh, and of course, the 1%.

They are going to pass legislation in GOP controlled states to move away from all-or-nothing electoral college wins. That will give them the same advantages winning the POTUS that they get the in winning the House.
They won’t need any brown people that way.

The Republican Party has decided to double down on its strategy of winning the white vote. Anti-immigrant rhetoric is the GOP’s single most effective argument in persuading working-class whites to vote Republican. Blaming Mexicans is the easiest way to address low wages without asking more from American corporations.
