As a Jew, I’d really like to thank these predators for reinforcing every awful stereotype about the Jewish media mogul.
Jeebus!
NPR?
Seems like most every guy in any sort of position or fame cannot keep their zipper zipped.
My dad impressed on me to never date a person from work
Also that sometimes “yes” really means “no”.
Horny eelitist libruls! We knowed it all time. Started with that Clinton guy.
Who next? Mr. Roger’s? Barney?
Alas, this is not news to many women.
Testosterone makes many of my gender do really stupid things. And not just in the area od sexual propriety either. The most common refrain heard before a rattle snake bite among the 25-35 male age set seen in ER’s is “Hold my beer and watch this.”
He was at the New York Times when the incidents occurred. Which says something about the atmosphere and HR department at the NYT.
Seems to me the distribution of predators is pretty even across all demographics. As per usual, this stereotype is unfortunate and wrong. Persevere.
He’s Naomi Oreskes brother.
FYI
Sadly, NPR has turned into a cesspool for the kock bros and the right wing lying perverts and pederasts and not worth listening to…
Yes - T poisoning is quite common. Bad thoughts do not have to lead to bad actions, however. Self control - principle of deferred gratification - golden rule etc etc. But not surprised to hear of this - we are going to hear a lot more I think.
Up vote for that.
Making no excuses here, but there was a comedian many moons ago who had a bit about how his girlfriend insisted that women get horny too. His reply: “Women? Horny? That’s the way men are when they’re not even thinking about it.”
Any more women coming forward on Trump-Trumps ?
It probably goes WAY past sexual harassment with Trump…odds are he’s paid for quite a few abortions. That would really do some damage among his insane base.
Sadly, that really doesn’t hold up too well. When you are working 80+ hours a week, pretty much the only people you meet are from work. So its inevitable that attractions will develop.
The point is, to never engage in those attractions with underlings or bosses, and to be aware that even with people in other departments, that there may be a perception of power. And that even is there is no possibility of harassment, there is almost always the possibility of complicating work.
He has hinted as much, during the campaign.
Given his draconian comment, sending women back to back alleys, I had to ask: When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?
“Such an interesting question,” he said. “So what’s your next question?”
I’m going to be a wet blanket here. I do employment law (on the plaintiffs’ side). The incidents in question, while they have a very large EWWW factor, and may justify suspending Oreskes on that alone, may not be sexual harassment. Sexual harassment must be “severe or pervasive.” A single incident, standing alone, seldom qualifies. (A workplace rape–more common than you might think–would be both criminal and sexual harassment.) If these women came to me, I’m not sure that I’d advise them to file a lawsuit; it would depend on how the incident colored their working careers at The Times.
They should have beat him silly with a NPR tote bag. That would have taught him.
