I can see people are interested.

sigh

This is the second mass killing in a smallish New Mexico town in 6 months. First the Clovis public library and now this.

I hate guns.

But there was that FOIA released video today of Sessions condescending to (law student) interns - Second Amendment GREAT Marijuana EVIL.

I can’t recall the last time a joint shot up a school.

“The families of the victims were notified immediately. They are in our thoughts and prayers,” state police said in a statement on social media. [Bold mine.]

Can we discuss gun control since we already have ‘thoughts and prayers’ taken care of?

This government could not be more out of touch with Americans if it had been brought in here from say, Romania, on a trailer behind an 18-wheeler, like a house that was picked up and moved lock stock and barrel.

Don’t be ridiculous. This is not the time for such a discussion.

Is it fair to assume that you recently immigrated to the US?

How about never? Does never work for you as the time for that discussion?

It better, because that is the time that works for Wayne Lapierre, Mitch McConnell, Paul Rayn, and Donnie Dumblefuck. (I hope that TIA he seemed to have yesterday is the precursor to a massive fucking CVA.)

Everything you could think or feel or say has been worn out. Maybe someday we’ll have self-government again and if the people want a thing their legislators will make it happen. That’s not what we have now.

Ahh! It’s just two more dead kids; let’s keep moving here.

@tena @sanni et al.

I’m a product of duck-and-cover, so 10-ish years ago when they started doing Code Red drills at kiddo’s elementary school I thought it was another silly distraction. But Jesucristo the kids really do need to protect themselves from shooters on a regular basis nowdays.

This is a NEW phenomenon. In spite of the f-ing Second Amendment cult’s fantasy, widespread gun ownership is a modern problem. Guns weren’t allowed in Ye Olde West towns.

Just off the phone w/ now college kiddo. They are currently sheltering in place from ashfall (thanks, Global Warming fires). She pretty much figures it is too late for the planet.

What the f- f- f- is wrong with these nutjobs? I mean, even their own kids will have to inherit this earth.

Sorry, very sad tonight.

Their kids will live in gated communities where everyone is armed but by some miracle no one ever misuses a firearm. (About 25 years ago I interviewed some people about the endgame of laissez-faire capitalism in haiti, where the rich people lived on gated estates with perfect lawns and driveways, but needed SUVs to traverse the dirt roads between one another’s properties and had to have gas trucked in for their generators and water for their cisterns because the infrastructure didn’t exist. I swear I didn’t think it was a harbinger.)

Can I like this more times please?

Wait, what? Clovis? My son graduated from ENMU, I’ve spent a lot of time in Clovis…fuck

Unfortunately, this is not snark, in my book. It’s gospel truth. This country is so fucked I can’t stand it.

I hate to admit it, but I’ve become pretty numb to this stuff. I think I’m becoming less human day by day in these twisted times.

But were the guns OK?
